I had full on Meniere's disease for 3 years - I tried everything they threw at me and nothing worked. The episodes of vertigo were extremely debilitating, and my life closed in around me as activities and events (esp loud noises), driving, things that I could do before, were dwindling down to the walls of my house being as far as I wanted to go. I opted for the full dose gentamicin treatment delivered into my inner ear and I did that twice. Yes, I lost 80% hearing in that ear (remedied with hearing aid) but you know what? I haven't had a vertigo attack in 10 months since that treatment. I have my life back, I drive, I plan activities, I have confidence that I can come and go and not be knocked down with a sudden, unexpected vertigo attack that left me on my hands and knees praying for death. Pros of gentamicin are no more vertigo, the cons are you lose significant hearing in that ear - I chose to lose my hearing in one ear in exchange for being able to live my life freely without fear again, I do not regret it one bit.
I've been diagnosed with Meniere two days ago after a MRI hydrops. I've got vertigos all the day and constant tinnitus in my right ear. I feel depressed and lonely. I was prescribed treatments to alleviate the symptoms but when I read some scientific comments about them, they cause more side effects than benefits. Therefore... The nightmare has begun for me. I can't dance, I can't run. I can't. Thank you for your comment. 🙏 from France 🇨🇵
@@idaloup6721 You're welcome Ida, if I can help someone else avoid years of suffering then I am happy. It is a drastic step to do the gentamicin treatment, but the rewards FAR outweigh the partial loss of hearing. Go get your life back.
@@idaloup6721 yes, it is unfortunately - here in the states Meniere's is misdiagnosed every day and people suffer for years trying everything they can think of and there is no reason to suffer. I've had ignorance from ambulance drivers, nurses, doctor's, there is not enough empathy and paths of being cured for the percentage of people suffering from this insidious disease. There are different doses of gentamicin, either given all at once and suffering hearing loss or given once a week in small doses and that dissipates the percentage of loss in that ear.. talk to an Otology Specialist, he/she can offer you options. I opted for full dose all at once because I don't live near the specialist I wanted and weekly drives were impossible.
@@laragon4175 I have an appointment with my ENT on friday to talk about it because I can't stand the treatments like Betahistine or diuretics which are for me absolutely ineffective. It's 6.30 a.m here in France and I've slept only 3 hours. I was prescribed sleeping pills but not very effective too for the tinnitus. Thank you very much for your comments. 🙏
Thank you for this video. This is something I may have myself and the symptoms are just awful. I guess videos like this don't get very high view rates, but it has offered me some reassurance so I just wanted to say thank you for making it!
I have had menieres most of my life . I’m in my 30’s and had it since childhood. Anyway never been diagnosed officially but I manage it like everyone who has menieres does. I even made a RU-vid video about it. Just recently found I have genetic haplotype and CIRS. So I’m thinking this is why my menieres has been undiagnosed by ENT “specialists” because it’s autoimmune versus general causation of menieres . My haplotype is the dreaded 4-5-53 I’m trying to understand this genetic component more if anyone has some insight I manage my menieres effectively as I researched a lot as a child when no one could help me/ believe me or give me a diagnosis The reason ENTS don’t believe I have menieres is because I still have my hearing
I have the exact same condition and my left ear has lost more than 80% hearing and the ringing sound gets too loud at night that I yell and cry sometimes because of not being able to sleep. Vertigo episodes last for hours, I can't even stand up when my head start to spin. I ride bike moat of the day and I'm afraid of having an accident because of my Meniere's disease.. I don't have money for the treatment..
Am so excited to be permanently cured from Syphilis virus/hsv with the help of Doctor Ani herbal medicine on RU-vid channel it’s works perfectly without any side effects Thank you so much Doctor
I highly recommend trying this. It helps me function daily. Dramamine is the motion sickness drug that's active ingredient is Dimenhydrinate 50mg, W mart has a low cost generic version called equate. B complex & D3 with K2 vitamins. Low salt & sugar, lower caffeine intake. Less wheat/ gluten. Good sleep habits. I have other things I do, but try these out first. Lmk if this helps out. Good luck. 🤞🏻👌🏻
Riddle me this: I was diagnosed with this last June.. Mine was brought on by stress.. never had any issues before..I had a strong disagreement with my daughter and I had an unwanted house guest. After confronting the un wanted guest, I worked out..I l laid on my bed face down, picked my head up and the room what violently spinning..it almost felt like my eyes were tangled. This is not a condition that runs in my family… I take good care of my body..the whole thing is making me blue.. also the Betahistine di hydrochloride..has way too many side effects for an active person..
I've had my first drop attack two months ago and ended up in the hospital after calling the paramedics. Fortunately I was at home when It happened and I thought It was a stroke. I have been then diagnosed with Meniere and my vertigos and tinnitus are permanent. It's a real nightmare and there's no reliable treatments. Greetings from France 🇨🇵
@@idaloup6721 mine are triggered very reliably by certain foods, I can't have even the slightest of MSG (a common flavour enhancer in instant noodles) but coming from France I guess you don't eat much of that :). Anyway have a look into your diet. Avoiding certain foods may help
@@rumit9946 Yes I don't drink coffee anymore and reduced my consumption of salt and sugar. I lost a lot of weight because I live with a constant nausea. What a nightmare Thank you for your comment. 🙏
I really hope I don't have this. I have always had ear issues but in recent months at first during movements like sitting up, or bending my head I would get room spinning dizziness, still do sometimes, but now it happens even if I don't move my head at all. I can be still and suddenly the room is spinning, nystagmus is happening I think, etc. I do have mild tinnitus I think it's both ears, but so far no hearing loss I don't think, but recently also have been feeling pressure like on a plane but just in my own house. I don't know what it is. Blood pressure is fine, etc no other symptoms that I can think of.
I have MD in both ears and it’s miserable…I get so many drop attacks and I’m bound to a walker for now..I have hearing loss in both ears…I am able to drive (praise God 🙏) I’ve injured myself pretty good, one fall has led me to an orthopedic surgeon for a rare injury..this is a nasty disease
i have "balance" and spinning problem when i tilt my head backward i feel i am losing balance and want to fall down. how to cure this? I also have a problem in getting deep quality sleep
@@schechter01 I highly re highly recommend trying this. It's what helps me function on a daily basis. Dramamine, the motion sickness drugs active ingredient is Dimenhydrinate 50mg. W mart has generic version called equate. It's much cheaper this way. I take it whenever I feel any signs of light headedness or dizziness, usually mornings. It's a life saver. Also, B complex & D3 with K2 vitamins help reduce dizziness. I take Cortexi for tinnitus, it cuts my ringing down about half as much. Which to me is worth it. Especially for conversations & sleep. Lmk if this helps out. Good luck. 🤞🏻👌🏻
Hello dear Doctor, thank you so much for your awesome guidelines. But I have a query that, I am facing with vertigo problem for few years. Sometimes I feel a noise in my left ear n then I feel vertigo n then start vomiting n feel imbalanced. But I don't get any proper solution n medication for this disease to doctors in my country. They are calling meniere's disease which will not be cured properly. Just they have given a medicine to cure vertigo problem. Have any solution to you that I can overcome this problem? Please help me 🥺
There's no medication that really helps. You must eat a low sodium, no processed foods, healthy diet with lots of green vegetables and fruit. Figure out what foods trigger attacks and don't eat them. Meditate for stress reduction. Good luck.
Does the vertigo always last for at least 20 minutes ? I’ve been suffering with vertigo for about 2 years but the spinning never lasts for more than 30 seconds but I do suffer with ear fullness and tinnitus from time to time .
Vertigo doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll go away.. Meniere’s is Vertigo for a longer period of time.. so you for sure have Vertigo and from what I was told and from what I experience, meniere’s gives someone Vertigo episodes for 20 minutes to hours… I typically get one for 20 minutes to 4-6 hours even up to half a day or whole day… meniere’s (like they said) recurring (multiple in a week or month) and long episodes
After all the years of having Menieres diseases and constant ear ringing , it is nice to sit in a quiet restaurant without anything bothering me. Even the fullness in the bad ear is hardly noticeable. And the constant ear ringing is gone..Took 4weeks thanks Dr Liam Ogbebor Herbal centre RU-vid channel for the tinnitus program and herbal ear drop treatment and I hope it stops for everyone else sooner””-
I can never thank you enough Dr Ogbebor for all your services, I am now completely cured of Tinnitus after using your medication, you're truly a man of honor and words I am so happy I came across your channel on RU-vid..
@@RIZWANALI-pi8qu Yes there are side effects. You lose some hearing in that ear and you have some balance issues that you have to overcome. The balance issues are minimal and easily remedied. The hearing loss is fixed by a hearing aid. All in all, you alone have to decide if that is worth doing to lose the unpredictable, intense and often debilitating effects of a vertigo episode. I do not regret my decision one bit.
Im only 27 and I was recently diagnosed with this disease however when i get vertigo or diziness its much more brief, i get the sense that im falling backwards suddenly which upsets the balance of my entire body, the ringing in my ears is a constant and different lighitng and movement upsets it for sure.. Ive noticed the effects of caffeine and smoking intensifing the issues greatly and have stopped both completely but no let ups on the episodes yet. Im wondering if anyone else doesnt get the full 20minutes of vertigo but flashes of diziness and vertigo whether im walking, sitting down or even trying to sleep which can then lead to pretty extreme panic attacks?.. I can keep my mind calm during these attacks but any feedback or advice would be appreciated its exhausting and any help is welcome
I take Dimenhydrinate 50mg, the active ingredient in Dramamine. W mart has generic version called equate. Much lower cost. B complex and D3 with K2 vitamins help reduce dizziness. Low salt and sugar, lower caffeine intake. Cortexi helps tinnitus, cuts ringing in half. Lmk if this helps you out. Good luck. 🤞🏻👌🏻
When I feel fullness in the ear I takr steam and it gets better for an hour and then feel the same and I also have sensation of have spinning but not vertigo. Is it MD or something else?
@@cindyglass5827 Dry fasting is when you don't consume either food or water. The best protocol is to fast weekly for 24 hours and up to 3 days. Start slowly and build your way up to 3 days. U need to fast multiple times to get the benefits. Your body need some time to heal and adapt.
@@debbiec4407 Hmmm, ... did not know any of this - makes sense now that I've read your & info from Biological Health response as well ... so, if a person got a cancer diagnosis, I would think this might be worth a try / might help as well ? tfs & taking the time to reply : )
@@cindyglass5827 of course. But u need to approach cancer differently as some cancer types feed on ketones, others strive on glucose and glutamine but with most cancer u will surely get results with fasting.
