What Mera and Aquaman had in the first movie is equivalent to two children having a crush on each other in school. Awkward hand touching and goofy joking is supposed to be flirting? I liked the first movie and didn't see the second one but their romance felt like it could've been great if they wrote it better.

@mimilook4347 You have a point there. It wasn't well written but AH just felt weird in the movie. It wasn't natural or genuine at all. Something just felt off by watching her acting. 🤷‍♀️ I can't help but feel that she wasn't the best choice for this role.

Actually, if you watched the trial, the head of DC pictures testified that the whole thing with Johnny and Amber had no impact on the script and how much Amber was in the movie. That from the start, Mera was never meant to be a main character in the sequel

@@sawboaz242 that's not how the cancel culture works. As soon as the op Ed by Amber heard came out, he was dropped by Disney, some of his sponsors, fantastic beasts and a few other movies. But even after proving his innocence he didn't get any of those back. I get that he has enough money for multiple lifetimes but the standards are different. He loses everything while she still gets to work.

Emilia Clarke is already with Marvel. They aren't allowed to cast the same actor in two separate companies.

Emilia Clarke is way too short to be Mera. Even Heard is not ideal in terms of height to be Mera. Heard and Momoa had a Billion dollar Box office in the first movie, the chemistry was ok.

@@mouche_pie I could list a lot of actors who were in both the MCU and DCEU. Laurence Fishbourne, Callan Mulvey, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Djimon Hounsou just to name a few. Emilia Clarke's work on Secret Invasion doesn't really matter for DC. However, it's better to keep Amber Heard as Mera from a consistency standpoint, and because we should really stop caring about whatever happened between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard seven years ago because Mads Mikkelsen was a terrible replacement for Johnny as Grindelwald. But, since the DCU is getting rebooted, at least Emilia would have a chance as Mera in the new franchise.
