Hello. I just have bought a white (cream color) one, also with red interior and fully openable. Such a great model. First time I saw Bburago version when it came out so many years ago I was stunned. That's when I started collecting 1/18 scale model cars. However, never bought that model. After all these years desire to have this model in my collection never died. Six months ago I was doing a research - Mercedes 300SL was made by these manufacturers: Bburago, AMC (no openings), Norev, Kyosho, Schuco and Minichamps 1954 full openings and 1955 partial openings. To me, from Bburago to Minichamps is from worst to best version of this model, right in that order. Even though we know that on Minichamps version the front blinking lights are to long (but I like it even more) and the shape of the trunk is not correct. Schuco made one step more then other manufacturers with door lifters (shock absorbers). But that's all just my point of view.😃 I think you should do a comparison of these two models, since you mentioned Bburago.
Hi, correct , I have the minichamps version but the old piece - 1st generation, those are more high quality then the later minichamps version, I like that it is extremely heavy, feels so great strong materials. Norevs shape is more correct but doesn't feel that high quality as old Minichamps. And its quiet hard now to find the 1st minichamps version in perfect condition, mine misses sadly (seller didn't tell) the 300sl batge on the back, ennoys me quiet a bit. I have the Cabriolet one to, that one is just perfect - looks like a CMC
