I remember when the B7 Audi RS4 first came out in 2007. It had 309KW and cost just under R600k. The E92 M-Tree had identical power but a slightly higher price tag. 14 years later, we have hatchbacks with more power, at twice the price. At what point will this madness stop?
I always held the view that Merc AMGs look too plain and do not differ that much from non AMG models, but this one right here is an exception🔥🔥. Great review. Price eye-watering 😭😭.

Have you seen the interior? Its better than most middle class, even high class cars. Thats the difference between the A45 and other hot hatchs. Ofcourse it has to come at a price

Had the previous gen A250 sport and my biggest gripe was the boot space, I know it is for non parent people,but I got a kid a few months later and 1 pram should not fill a boot
Great review, as always, Ciro! I agree with you about the road and tyre noise, it is rather loud and bothersome. Even the interior cameras picked up the noise.
I’d like to see how can it do off the line against the brutal launch control of the ford MK3 just the launch part. I like the A45s, the price tag is just insane.
Awesome review and epic power it puts put from a mere 2l 4 cylinder motor. I believe you when you say that the seats are uncomfortable and road noise is insane. Makes me wonder is it under insulated or maybe the tires are horrible.

But then it will still be the most powerful 2 litre 4 cylinder engine car. The RS3 will always be faster because its always released after the A45 so Audi know how powerful they need to make the car for it to be faster.

Excellent review, as always! I completely agree that the Performance seats should be the only configuration for the A45. I have been driving my 2015 model with Performance seat and loving them, even on long (5-7 hours) trips. Being ready to trade up to the a45s (pre-loved) is tempting but your comments about the road. Noise is a deal-breaker. RS3 may be the solution.Cheers, V
I remember back is 2012 I think when the 1st A45 was launched. It cost 620k entry level and this new one is almost double the amount yet you don't get double the power. It's crazy how expensive things have become.
Weird, I long distance travel like in a commercial plane comfort with no disturbing road noise with my A45S with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres came with stock. Your tyres or road quality is different, then.
Watched a few A45 review. People said the road noise is there but nothing crazy. Probably in your market, the A45 has different tires than those in other markets. Like your A45 only gets basic seats, but even A200d in my market gets memory seats.
Who knew 4 cylinders can push so much power. They replacing V8s. But the price of this car is surprisingly expensive even the new golf r is creeping to the 1 million mark am sure wen it gets to south Africa it will be around 800k
I couldn't believe the price tag on this A45s 💀 its very expensive for a hot hatch .You might go out and buy yourself a M2 or M3 for that kind of money
in the first race between the CS and merc, the CS doesnt launch fully. a few minutes later when the CS launches you can see the difference. no smoke or the back of the CS doesnt drop as the mercs does in full launch or the bm does later on....
A Class are beautiful cars I own 1 but, and few things I hate about it is the seats have no much support ,road noise and could be too bumpy of uneven roads.

The only reason the RS3 always beats the A45 is because its released after so Audi know how to beat the A45. If the A45 was released after the RS3 then it would always beat it
@@tonygarces1862 The old RS3 still has the "proper" 5 cylinder but the A45s beats it because it has more power... It doesn't matter whether you have a 2 cylinder or a V8 what matters is how much power you can make... Use common sense and stop letting your love for a car blind you

Stock, there is no 45S that has beaten my RS3. And once I have finished tuning it, there won't be a tuned 45S either. Stop reading paper facts and do actual racing. The new A45s beats the old stock RS3 and that's a fact because I have seen the race in real life especially roll races and I have also seen a race between a stage 3 properly tuned 4 pot and a stage 3 5 pot so I know what a proper tune can do... Sadly for you I'm not just a keyboard warrior

Great review. The Mercedes A45 S AMG is the fastest hatchback in the world. However, it costs an arm and a leg, 1.1 Mil for a hatchback is a lot in my opinion. May I suggest an alternative to that - the 2016 Ford Focus RS. It's as competitive and sporty as the A45 S AMG but with half the price.
