I own a 45s and yes it’s not loud like the old one (I had that as well) but everyone who has been in the car says it sounds great. People turn their heads when they hear me coming, which tells me they can hear it lol. It does seem to be getting louder with more bangs and cracks as I’m building up the km. It may also be our Australian market without the OPF filter sounds slightly better than the Euro version. But other than its muted sound it is an absolutely amazing car. Can’t wait for the new RS3 and M cars to come out so the manufacturers can keep pushing the limits for the next generation.
The opf does make a big difference though and to be honest I wouldn‘t buy this car without having an after market solution in mind concerning the sound.
@@mattyoz0 Yeah totally agree, but nothing is cheap with this car. The fun factor totally outweighs the cost factor ATM, well... at least until it needs servicing 😂 I'm just glad we finally get a 5yr warranty in Australia now.
And my Clubsport looks better 😄 Also sounds better due to resonator delete. Next up is getting the legendary CTS Turbo downpipe... Watch out dudes! 😄 (check my channel)
It sounds good and with an aftermarket exhaust system without opf it sounds too much louder if u want. Amazing exterior, gorgeous interior and It’s very fast....
I’m guessing there are still a lot of people living in the past. Just listen to the new models of most cars, with the opf they all sound like this now. The new S3 doesn’t sound nearly as loud as the previous model. Anyway, there is an easy and cheap way to make it louder anyway. For example, without the rear muffler, the A35 sounds quite a bit louder, especially the pops. So you don’t even need an illegal exhaust of akrapovic or whatever, wich is a lot more expensive. And I say “illegal” cause the legal variant is usually barely any different from stock.
Sounds way more mature and deeper than the last gen which just have cheap sounding tin-can like farts. Maybe due to the higher boost and location of the new turbo
@@CP-vg4vy uh yeah it does and current model is still a facelift from the 2015 base. Plus the second hand market prices for an RS3 are much higher than the merc that all haemorrhage in value the first year. At the end of the day it's a subjective choice but the smart choice is clear and evident.
ale3hs New a45 was recently released and its still pretty much sticker price, prices have not plummeted. Maybe with time but so will the RS3. I’ve already seen some with 10k of sticker price but not a45.
I was thinking about buying this as my next car until I saw the servicing cost, outrageous. My bmw m140 came with free 5 year servicing, this thing will cost you over 6k over 5 years in Australia.
Hi mate, I have no idea where did you get those $6k from. In Australia, A45S with 3yr service plan costs $3K (5yrs is $4300) whereas E63S & AMG GT is about $7K for a 5yr plan. I have never heard BMW chuck free servicing for their cars, unless its a promotion. If I recall, M3 Competition never had a capped service plan! But if you got a 5yr free servicing with your BMW, lucky you :), commenting here is completely absurd! Moreover, people those who buy AMGs don't whinge about service cost, unlike others! Enjoy your BMW with M badge :)
@@jerindc007 oh you trying to flex? Yet you bought the baby amg. Sorry, service pack is 5k not 6k. HUGE difference. Btw because you spent 100k on a car that is taxed to death means you don't care about money at all? You sound like a moron.
@@jerindc007 and I will enjoy my m140 till I upgrade to a m2 comp and pay nothing for my servicing. That's what us bmw boy's do. Enjoy your $1000 oil change.
