No Audio? Your sound amplifier may be at fault. This video shows how to find and locate the sound amplifier, remove and reinstall it. Location Of Stock Amp On A 2006 Ml350
I could do it the way he suggests and if I was doing it for a customer I would. This is my personal vehicle so... also SRS lights are sometimes triggered by removing the seat. I don't want to suggest viewers do something that will cause further problems. I have the tools to turn off these things but not all of my viewers do. Look on the passenger side of the vehicle. Mercedes has cut the carpet that way too for the battery.
Well it does look like the access would be easier with the whole seat removed. If it was my car, I’d have a way to pull up that carpet easily to access the amp. Crazy location.
@@iRepairAutos I Repair you have 27000 subscribers, that is the number of Mercedes owners who have experienced an issue with their crappy audio system, can't find no one willing to mess with Mercedes unrepairable system, went to their crooked dealer anyway, run away after hearing the quote and are trying to find a good samaritan online to give them a clue about that system that no one wants to fix. (this is me by the way..lol). I own a 2008 GL 450 my radio configuration look similar to this one on your video; it has the same issue: no sound, but it manifested soon after I replaced the aux cable in the glove box that was bad. After I removed the radio plugged in the new aux cable, put back everything together there was no sound anymore. Just like in your video but the only difference on the display on this video the sound button is still present but mine disappeared from the display, and the cd changer button in the audio menu disappears as well and no sound; so I don't know if it's something that requires the dealer to reset these functions with their diagnostic tool, or is there a way I can do to solve this because everything was working just fine before I replace that cable. Can you give me any clue?
Check that you have NO water under your carpeting, the lower well, Floor. Drivers Side, move seat all the way back, remove sill panel and lift up that carpeting! Check this out, my control module went bad due to water, then my amplifier blew. Crazy stuff like wipers not working ect. You probably got water coming in from sunroof or under dash. Mercedes Body Control Module - Genuine Mercedes 1649002901 Change control module and amp. Problem solved. Do it yourself, Just don't go to Mercedes or you'll be ripped off!! Control module might have to be programed. Any questions, I'll try to help. I couldn't find this info anywhere. I have 2007 GL450. Thanks.
Thanks for the video, it's the only one dealing with the issue. If the volume works by the steering buttons but not on the radio knob, would you say it'll still be the amplifier? Thanks for your time.
Great video and work that you do. I just acquired a 2005 sl500 with a cheapass planet audio unit installed with the existing Bose. Totally distorted sound when streaming or CDs....I never listen to radio. My sense is that the Mercedes amp has been bipassed when they installed this cheap unit because of the distortion. Do you know where the bose system amp is located and can it be connected to the planet audio head> I read somewhere that it cannot....very confusing and not much in the way of resources. Thanks for any reply or opinion. Rick
Where did you find a replacement amp and how much was it? I am having an issue with my R350 where I get no sound yet everything else seems functional. I don’t even get a hissing sound. I looked online and see this part costs over 2k! Used ones on eBay cost 450 which is also expensive considering it will still be prone to failure.
Thanks for this helpful clip. I had to cut across that plastic cover to get access. What a sight! The recess had 1/2 inch of water in it and the amp module was corroded and the tracks cooked. If I buy a replacement amp does it need to be reprogrammed?
my 2008 GL450 has static for 5 minutes like blown speakers then perfect guessing the amp under driver seat as it was wet there i found one but had no sound at all so hoping the amp is causing this as i ordered one on ebay junkyard no luck
Love the video, and the instruction, will be sitting around for part two. Question and how I landed here. 2011 Mercedes E350 Coupe..radio cutting in and out over the months, Mercedes waste of time, looked at speakers, etc.. now radio has stopped no sound. Please tell me the Harman Kardon amp isn't under the seat... that would be the worst news ever. BTW Merry Christmas, and thanks for the vid. New Subscriber
Yes. Water damaged unit. Repairing multilevel boards with components is beyond what I can repair with my current equipment. Best to buy a working one used from online auction site.
Hey guys, I've had a 2008 Mercedes Benz E350 for 2 years now. The Harmon kardon Logic7 sounded amazing with powerful bass. Until one day my CD changer stopped working while I had CDs inside . I've been reading forums and some people said to remove the fuse for AGW, the CD changer and the radio. I followed the steps took the fuses out, put them back, and at the end the CD changer started working again. But ever since I removed the fuses and put them back into place, my sound has not been the same. I used to get powerful bass from the front speakers, and the subwoofer , and an awesome clear surround sound experience. What do I have to do to get the powerful bass back? So much question is do I have to go into engineering mode to get the sound back, or what do I have to do to get the sound? Because I believe that after removing the fuses I must've messed up a component in the radio system that has to be readjusted. I still get sound, but it's not the same as it used to be before I removed the fuses. Sometimes I try, and I put the bass to maximum, and nothing happens. Guys please help me. Please
do a radio reset. I have a video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iwRIUNMmYXI.html then go into your radio and and set the treble, bass, and surround sound options.
@iRepair Autos I too have a 2006 ML350. I watched and liked a lot of your videos. Were you able to confirm your amp was bad? Did you replace the amp with another factory amp or an aftermarket amp? My head unit works, navi works, CD player works but there is no audio, no sound from the speakers. So Im suspecting its the amp. Just curious what route you took and if it's working for you. Thanks
( 2011 W204) Problem: I haven't any sound from the speakers in the rear window. I only have sound coming from the speakers in the door. Do you have any suggestions as to how I should resolve that problem?
my 2009 ML320 CDI has no sound out of the Pass. Rear speaker. I've double checked the leads and nothing seams out of place. The Tweeter and the 6.5" Speaker both don't work but all other speakers are fine. Any suggestions?
I have 2005 e 320 radio was working perfect until yesterday now I can't open CD changer and radio display logo and turns off why do I need to check the amp ? Is it under the seat ? Please help 🆘

I got a 2011 GL450 and I believe it has the logic 7 in it not sure how do you know if it has the logic sound system but anyway can you tell me which fuse you removed because I have a CD player I can hear that motor spinning but I can also see it on the display that there's two CDs in the CD changer in the head unit but when I click eject it doesn't do anything it will not spit the CDs out everything else works just fine
I have a c240 2002 mb. My radio go on but there's not sound. I checked all the fuses and they are good. What could be the problem? Also when I took off the radio the fuse was blown and is replaced now but still no sound.
Hey buddy, I know theres small chance, but. My command unit on this car, won't turn on and drains the battery, car dies within 2 days, is there anything you could recommend before I fork out thousands to get it fixed! Thanks again
In some cases cleaning the electronic circuit from moisture salt make it work. My Ml bluetec front turn signal stuck on , when I open the front Sam found it salty , clean it with spirit and mount it made it normal again .
I got a 2006 R 500 and I love my V8! just put a new 9" android system simple and new speakers from Infiniti kappa the cheaper way to upgrade w/quality...
The first culprit is not having sound. Check the amp fuse. Remove the amp fuse for 5 minutes to reset the amp. If still no sound. You will need to check fiber optic lines groom radio to CD to amp. You should see laser red light activity. You won't see any on the bad device. It's not fast. Star diagnostics tool would tell exactly which module is bad.
I need your help My command unit isnt working properly..it turns on and off but stucks on the logo i can turn the volume up and down too..i can see on the dash that its playing the cd thats been in there but i cant control anything from the steering wheel nd the unit itself any solution?would really appreciate it
I took it out unplugged it and plugged it back in and it worked, but when there is a high bass drop it shuts off and it doesn't turn back on I am not sure why, if anyone knows why this is happening please help.
All that cutting just to avoid removing four easy bolts and pull the seat out? Doesn't make a lot of sense to me, if it was my car I wouldn't want my carpet cut off like that, but that's just me.
