Best car I have ever driven (sadly, not as an owner) in this class. 80 mpg in eco mode for automatic. Eats up the miles with ease. I had no problems with iphone connection. I'm seriously considering buying one (B180 CDi auto) in the near future. Edit.... I now have one (2014 MY) and it is even better than I remember. It looks good in South Seas Blue!
Love your honesty, delivery and comments on things other people ignore. How's the interior noise (wind, road etc) and how is does it ride over rough roads? If you have any there. :)
hi nice review. Just one question, when you say at 2:05 that full-size child seats will fit in the back, no problem, do you mean 3 child seats next to each other? I realize you probably didn't actually try it, but that can be tricky in some cars.
The usb problem might come from the unsupported format of the file system on the pendrive. If it's formatted anything other than Fat32 my pioneer head unit would do the same.
Yes they will fit 3 seat in depending on the make of the seats. Some makes are bigger then others at the top of the seat so best you should go down the shop with 3 child seats and fit them for a test drive. The B Class is much wider than it appears from the outside.
Bought one mid 2015, very good car. usb wont work with S4 , and I cannot work out how you can sit behind yourself as you said you did....excellent car...
Focus Ecoboost on the way in a few weeks, I've driven it briefly at a launch day and it's great. B Max isn't out in Ireland yet, C Max on the way later this year I think
Before we bought our B200 Sport I drove pretty much everything similar from VW Gold, Skoda Yeti, Renault Scenic, Ford C-max and a few more besides and decided on the B-class because it drove the best out of the lot. As for the woolly steering at speed, I've driven ours over 120mph and the steering felt the same as at 12 mph. No wobbles, not vague at all. I agree about the handbrake but this just takes getting used to and is how many of the old Lexus's (and plenty of vans) have their handbrakes.
I bought this car 3 weeks ago and its an amazing one..... but i have the same problem with the audio Bluetooth, My phone doesn't connect to it, USB port working fine though.
Dear reporter. I drive the same model Mercedes and I can say Bluetooth music works AMAZING. Also, I have an iPhone. All you have to do is press the button disc - connect last Bluetooth device - and done!😂
Good video, Mercs have always had the whiff of aging company director about them in my humble opinion...saying that looks nice and you can't argue with 5 litres per 100Km
El cheapo looking review mirror there. Should be auto-dimming in a Merc. I love the look they have for the radio channels, but yeah a knob to control the frequency would be excellent. Also a shame Merc. decided not to put plastic trim on the door frame there around the window.
the review was spot-on. Except the radio channel can be changed by turning the joystick knob and the parkbrake does release automatically. have driven all sorts of rental cars over the last year. I got a B Class last month and was extremely disappointed. Expected more from mercedes to be honest. Loud on the motorway & the wiper control is dangerous when you get a sudden splash and have to take a hand off the wheel. look past the badge! more for your money elsewhere.
Sorry if I've translated wrong but my test is very objective, the B-Class is a decent car just not as quality as I'd like and as you say there's a lot of tough competition out there
I've read quite a few reviews on this car and in my opinion most of the reviews have been of a very poor standard.(did you all go to the same school?) I've driven one and i'm going to buy one but not based on any reviews!! Drive it yourselves then decide!! One reviewer even suggested that a ford focus would be a better option - absolutely F...king mental!!
With new car sales down across Europe, The 3 pointed star have to diversify and clone what other manafactures are already doing. But if you ask me, they are trying to hard?. This niche is already coverd, Focus s max c max, Picasso, corolla verso.... etc. Think they need to stick to what they are good at.
Good. Your iPhone may have fried it's chip. Use IT regularly. See IF IT works. IF IT does, 3.5 mm, to 3.5mm, Jack hole, phone to hole. Glove box, or armrest. C, E, and S, have IT in the glove box. On the screen, toggle up to AUDIO, IF AUX, DOESN'T POP UP, HIT CD. THEN AUX, WILL POP UP. :)
electronic parking brakes are rubbish ive a passat and i hate the bloody thing with it a pain in the ass,give me a good old fashioned hand brake any day!!!
How to say in Russia - the A and B class - it's not a true Mercedes. Automatic transmissions and engines are very different. Mercedes now corrected my terrible mistake with the location of the engine, almost under the floor, but it will not help. Build quality is very low. And even in Russia, where it is important to seem someone than to be someone, rich people have given up on Mercedes.
If your going to talk about features, know what your talking about. Many mistakes and wrong information given here man. If you want to wipe your windscreen, touch the silver button on the stalk to place of resistance, it wipes once. Push harder, it sprays.

James - lol! That's really funny... I caught that too with all the buts but honestly, it means that he saw nearly all features from more than one angles.
Any BMW rides fast. Audi is cheaper than other premium brands. Lexus is very reliable. What about Mercedes? A lot of flaws and none of the above advantages. Mercedes magic disappears. For the same money you can buy in Russia Skoda Superb. And this car absolutely by all indicators will be better than Mercedes. Superb have not only the appropriate(Mercedes) name plate, but if somebody really need it he can glue it :)
Пока нет тест-драйва Б-класса на русском языке приходится смотреть английские тесты. Неприятно удивлен необъективностью. Например, Carbuyer, специально выбрал для теста журналиста маленького роста, чтобы машина выглядела внушительно. А в этом тесте ведущий вообще не выходит из машины. Да, в премиум-классе аналогов машине нет, но если сравнить Б-класс с машинами его размера - Opel Meriva, Renault Scenic, Seat Leon, Toyota Auris, Nissan Qashqai то результаты будут явно не в пользу Мерседеса.
