the 6.3 was so underrated. You could roast the tires for 100 ft in a burnout. The polished intake manifolds were one of a kind! Yours are filthy... Shine them! Beautiful car though!!!
Most beautiful four door car ever made! Pure class.Excellent visibility.Nothing on this car is built just for show. You are lucky with a such a wide parking spot.Where I live,in Vancouver Canada,we have one of the most expensive real estate in the North America.Despite that, they leave you parking spot, you can barely park "Smart" car.
One of the CEO's of the company my father worked had onle like this, in bright green metallic, if I remember correctly. It drove better than a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow, which another CEO owned. And I as a young kid, could enjoy all those goodies sometimes.
"It drove better than a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow, " It didn´t only drove but it also looked better than any RR at that time. When I was a young boy i physically falled in love with that cars.
Even as old as the car is, and I've seen similar in much worse shape, you still get that classic Mercedes door closing, just a light thud in stead of the typical bang you get on other cars.
Love to have this one - hard on a car to let it sit that long, and then hit the gas hard enough to bark the tires, though. This car deserves to be driven - and can be driven hard, but not 'occasionally'. Also - if going to let it sit long periods, best to either drain that tank completely or keep it full. Looks like some corrosion on the fuel sending unit (or a bad ground) causing the fuel gauge to bounce like that...Still - beautiful car and would look great in my garage. :) Trade you a '91 350SDL with 115K miles on it.... in great shape. :)
Hi. I have a '72 model 280se W108 with exactly the same colour exterior and interior as this car, this is the first time i have seen another Merc with the same combination, but please please clean this car up and give her a cover.....she deserves much better!
Runs sweet , it has heated rear screen (white knob) fader(speaker knob) and emergency flashers (red knob) but what is the green knob? fanfare horns? .I have 6.3 #1675 .
Wonderful car :-) It's a shame about all the dust and that horrid noise in the background. I had no idea that these had air suspension. Was it standard equipment on this model? :-)
weak compressor or good size leak.. beast of a motor gas pedal feels funny in all the 6.3's....heavy heavy car weight wise but still......that one DOES look extra clean though needs tank sender replaced arent those engines dry sumped?
dont forget the two stroke oil added to the fuel! Modern fuels destroy the old EFI and engine materials so it is needed in old bikes, cars and trucks --just add the protective 2 Stroke oil to the fuel. (1%)
In the year of publishing this video my guess this car has been sold between 5 en 8000 euro. For this kind of money you would by now a plain W108 (280SE -280SEL) and this would be a Restoration object to.
Exactly why I kept mine! I knew I'd regret it because I sold both of my 1984/85 W123 300D turbo diesels and my black `88 300SE but I kept my midnight blue `88 300SE. Wrapped in a timeless body-style, the W126 is by far the best all-around luxury car ever built.
Abid Malik i was looking at one yesterday at IN autos. its having full restoration. they made about 40 rhd 6.3's so rare but they are out there in collections
