The 108/109 family are glorious pieces of machinery; elegant, timeless and awesome MB engineering. She looks good when a chauffeur opens the door for you and she looks good when you take her out for a brisk work-out and flex those powerful muscles... I owned a 1972 280S for years and nothing will ever give me again that sensation of rock solid power....
Great work boys! Can't say I'd do it to one of my old girls but only because I don't have the money to burn. Good to see one of these getting a workout.
Love this shit, I think everyone saying he's destroying this beast knows fa about old Benz's, nannying around without giving em hell once in a while is what stuffs them, even the old sixes, I'd say if anything would run better after this, my Benz's always did
That's a real hand made V8. I've copped a lot of flack over having a Mercedes V8 and it's about time someone showed the truth. Good on ya boys, nice one.
That was brilliant!!!! I have to know where this car lives! I have the same vehicle in white! I must meet the owner of this vehicle he is a legend!!!!!!!!
Nice! Keep doing what your doin! Cars are meant to be driven. Performance cars are meant to be driven hard. HATERS gonna HATE!!! Its because they have nothing better in their life to do.
You clearly don't understand the point of Erich Waxenberger's work in 1966. He decided, in his spare time, to see if it was possible to shoehorn the M100 lump into a 300sel for fun. He wanted to make something completely outlandish and unnecessary for fun. The 300sel was already an accomplished cruiser, but no fun. The whole point of this car is fun, not sitting in a dehumidified bubble on axle stands never to move again. It is insulting his hard work to treat it as a museum piece.
nice car. I like you really drive it like you do :D they are made for driving. My friend has one like yours and he takes the car every summer 4-5 times to track to really test it... but i don't like the exhaust. Btw i've got an 280SE w108.
Simply, three words...LIKE A BAWSE!!!!!! Blowing the tires off is what this 6.3 Litre German muscle machine was meant to do. That and 150mph all day, everyday :)
@carreracaballo I agree. Cars are meant to be driven. Maybe i still wouldnt treat this kind of a classic like this, but still. Locking them in a garage is the worst thing you can do.
1:47 thats how you drive away the goodfather from crime scene in 1975, little italy, leaving no tyreprints, just straight black lines and white smoke that slowly disapears with the wind... o_O
Some wrote, he abused it.. You cant abuse these old gasoline Mercedes, they can travel at top speed 0-24 with good settings. They are bulletproof, at that time these were the best cars of the world. These are facts.
Bloody tidy old beast you got there! There is one (not sure of year) getting around my way, it is a bit of a pig compared to this, but even still looks great. TWIN Turbo time I think!
all old mercedes are extremly tough build cars. only way to kill em is NOT to drive. keep it going and it runs forever. btw-my job is to restore old cars. and im driving an 1970s car every day, even in snow and rain. no prob.
@Meistere30 Sorry, but i just want to say, i often read hitler comments about Mercedes cars. Hitler and the Nazis had nothing to do with the art of engineering of germans. Hitler an the Nazis were just a very short Period, that ruined it all. German engineering was before and is still there.. It is the sad that often those things are mixed up.
are these v8's? sounds good. as for sounding american: maybe people thought u were americans with australian accents?! lol. There are some odd keyboard warriors out there!
