At the end of the 1960s, the Mercedes-Benz Board of Management decided that a limousine should be built that would have driving performance on a par with super sports cars. The 6.3 litre engine from the Mercedes Benz 600 was installed. With an unladen weight of 1,740 kg, remarkable driving performance up to a top speed of 220 km/h could be achieved. More than 50 years later, we know that such vehicles will never exist again and that is why this super Mercedes developed at that time is a motorised cultural asset of lasting value. The "red sow" and the two numbers 6.3 are part of the myth of the Mercedes Benz brand. Our 300 SEL 6.3 has a clear history, as the first original vehicle registration document is available.
