which just so happens to be why we drive those. and not the new ones. (although considering the frequency on which they are completely re-built every 5 years or so they pretty much are new anyway, other than the vin numbers ;) not that one strictly -has- to do that. they'll run just fine for 40-60 years without any maintenance at all ;)
It is incredible how you guys get these old cars running again. Its funny when the Mercedes drove past the Ford which was "eaten" up by rust :-) Keep up the good work guys, and thanks for filming in a good proper quality!
im actually very surprised it runs after a 12 year sit down. some simple DIY work to it, new fluids, thing would crank, unless it's out of time or you got blown seals.
+spartan 01 I really think he should do a lot of performance upgrades or do a motor swap and put a big cow catcher in the front and turn it into the European version of the jeepers creepers van!
That little diesel makes about 65 horsepower. I had one in a car. It required patience. In a van like this it will redefine slow. That said it's a very cool vehicle and I hope you give it lots of love.
Ja die alten autos sind die besten. Mein opa hat nen 190er mit ner halben mille kilometer und läuft und läuft und des gute ist man kann alles selber reparieren
Watched the other video too. Great job guys. I always say people that know what to do with their hands and are not afraid to get them dirty will survive the zombie apocalypse.
Are you guys in estonia as good with the bodywork on these old vans as you are with their engines? I consider driving my 507D up there for my next holidays if so ;) Here it will cost me a fortune, I don't have, to get it fixed - the motor is so excellent though - I only have to change the filters frequently and need to keep the battery up... An old engineer once told me that the motor will outlive the body by more than 50 years XD
Jeszcze rok temu jeździłem takim w pracy.
;). Spodziewamy się że osiołek przeżyje owego mastera :)
Do you purchase them, restore them and sell them? Part them out? I'm not bashing or being negative, just very curious as to what the point of these videos is. If "Just because" that's fine. Regardless I enjoy watching videos of struggles and successes with starting vehicles. It's strangely satisfying.
Russians certainly know how to get the best out of old machinery. Not only did they get the engine to work but they got the whole vehicle moving under its own power. Amazing after being laid up for such a long time (and in Russian winters at that!).
Énorme ! Les vieux diesels sont vraiment increvables ! Sûr qu'avec 2 nouveaux phares et quelques bricoles de carrosserie, ce bon vieux mazout repartirait pour le service sans rechigner !
