I agree with the MB dude, and disagree with this reviewer dude.. Sharp edges, lines, swoops, grilles, vents etc. are over the top these days.. Overstyling is rampant... Smooth, clean styling is much more timeless. And this car looks fantastic!

Can’t afford the CLS yet, but if the next gen CLA is anything like this, I’d be very keen on getting one! Unpopular opinion, but I’m perfectly okay with the design!

nibot kram The interior is quite nice but the exterior is bleak and ridiculously boring compared to the last gen CLS, which was sculpted with strong design lines. The headlights/tail lights look quite cheap in my opinion and they don't match the rest of the body. On the other hand, the AMG GT 4 door is absolutely amazing, they got that right. I agree that mercedes is definitely moving forward but they took a huge leap backward in the CLS segment.

I miss the identity of the former CLS wich was more unique. I which Mercedes had a bit more balls and continued the progressive and also classic CLS design.

If you can afford to buy this, then you'd most likely able to also afford the Mercedes-AMG GT 4 Door. I'd get that instead of this, or the upcoming BMW M8 Gran Coupe.

Bruh the CLS is only $209K vs equivalent AMG GT53 is $290K...... If anything you’d go for an E53s or whatever 🤷‍♂️ Either way I’m happy with my C63s 😅

I've never liked the CLS, especially the first generation - I thought that was one of the ugliest cars Mercedes-Benz had ever built. The second generation wasn't much better. But I'm quickly warming up to this third generation, by reason of that interior alone. And I'm glad that we finally have a subtle AMG. I've thought that of late, AMG styling has become too loud.

I agree. I thought the first gen looked like the early AU Ford Falcon [aka cockroach], particularly from the rear - before Ford quickly redesigned it. But it seems I was in the minority as the CLS sold in large numbers WW.

The S on CLS is not a reference to the S-Class but refers to [in German] Coupe Leicht Sportlich. Loosely translated in English to Coupe Light Sport.

I think it fits nicely between the E and the S-Class. This is essentially an E-Class on a sportier body.

i don't like how there is a CLA which is an A-class coupe/sedan and CLS which an S-class Coupe/sedan ? is cl'S' the best 4-door sedan they offer?

E class Coupe/sedan. It was never based on the S calss.

Look Styling wise, I can't decide if I like it or not... The front is very stylish and then you get to the back and its like they lost creativity there. If I was the boss, I would moved him to designing the front of the cars only, he's useless at designing the rear end. Just look at the X Class, its front is amazing but the back looks like they found those lights in a scarp yard of old 2004 Navara's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
