Of course they do. That's how these are cleaned. It's just carbon and other unburned hydrocarbons. Better in the drain than in the air and your lungs. I do more environmental damage after eating some french fries that this cleaning ever did lol.

Dpf is used to reduce smog, nothing else. So the smog stays in the dpf and then burns off in a regen. Instead of the particles flowing out the exhaust continuously
I need to clean on my E320 W211, but my DPF does not separate in two pieces like your. Mine is one piece from one to other end. In other words, the only thing possible is shoot water through the inlet to the outlet. It is not possible to shoot water directly to the filter itself. Good job
Is this DPF from Mercedes W211? It doesn't look like. My 2008 E320 Bluetec is having a issue caused by DPF clogged and a MB mechanic is trying to clean it. My car is the ones that doesn't use the blue liquid but I don't know why the regeneration did not worked.
There are specialized shops that all they do is clean DPF. It's like 500 euros or so. Worth it over anything a mechanic does. You're good to go for another 200-300k.
I just wonder what is better then this shit in a water system where it will end up and how do you filter it from the drinking water as if it gets to the bottom layers of the earth or water cleaning systems then how clean could water get after filtering or in the air where it also would end up just when the regeneration is happening but one way or another humans and animals and nature is getting part of it or it could be removed from the car?
@@halmaten I am not judging anyone over the work we are all living on the same planet I don't think out those filters I would rather concentrate on other things like how do build those engines for example that they wouldn't smoke so much or work out some other more reliable transportation methods as diesel for example is used in household heating systems even.
