in this video I will share with you how to clean a DPF on a Mercedes/Dodge Sprinter Using Liquid Molly DPF Cleaner... #DPF #SOOTLEVELTOOHIGHINDPF #SOOT #REGENERATION
very good video. I know somebody has criticised you for repeating actions but I think this is good as it drills it into our heads. I think your balance was correct for me.😊
I am about to go outside (23 degrees F) and with my home made sprayer, clean mine. Going down the highway at 40 mph, is really getting old. I really hope this solves a whole lot of trouble codes that I am getting. Thank you for going into such detail. I really appreciate showing that hole location in your tools tube. I am making mine as close to yours as I can.
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair I was going to ask you a question I've got a 15-year-old Audi A5 V6 having several years of solid service history I had a DPF light come on dashboard the other week took it out for good drive. It disappeared then was back within day or so later I've decided to give the DPF regenerator fuel additive a try an so far vehicle has been going almost a whole week without yellow code. I'm coming up to half a tank in fuel. My question is How often should I use a bottle like this if im not really doing mileage? Thanks 🙏
This was a great way to teach really appreciate this video I have my dpf problem now and I’m watching to see what to do. The dealership have no date for me yet and I’m worried my truck will start loosing power.
Yeah, I told the customer about the cam sensor codes just to be on the safe side of things in case the check engine light was gonna come back, but it never did, I made this video last summer and the cam codes never came back, I don't know what caused the codes to be set, the vehicle comes back to the shop for PMI, but no cam codes!!
Good video, you don't need to add the liquid moly if you put the transmission into a low gear & reb engine to 3000 rpms for 5-6 miles then it will regen automatically.
Excellent video. I believe this is my problem. I have watched several of your videos and I have a boost issue. However I have had the DPF regeneration code come up and I just clear the code. So I’m assuming that when I lost boost, I think the DPF is filled up and needs cleaning. So I’m starting with this. Mercedes’ thinks it’s a vacuum issue, however I believe this is my problem since I had regen problems!!!
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair I have a question.when you decide to do the regeneration process, and clear the code and code does not go off, what can u do?since this process can not be done while the computer still has the code in memory.
@@highestforwardgear7584 when the code doesn't go off after erasing it, you have to reset the PCM or force a Driving Regeneration like I did in the video!! if both methods don't work then the DPF gotta come out and sent to a facility that can clean it!!
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair.Ohh,got u.Thx again for ur support.I want to joint this field cz am very passionate for it(Auto electricity&electronic system technician).
Very interesting video, thanks for posting! Great level of detail. I have been quoted £2k by our Mercedes agent in the UK to replace our Sprinter’s DPF so it has to be worth trying a cleaning product before that! Incidentally I think the lack of power beforehand would be the van going into ‘reduced power’ mode due to check engine light being on? With our van the ‘check engine’ light sometimes goes out after turning van off then on again and we only have reduced power at times when the check engine light is flashing…
DPF pressure reading higher after cleaner..that's kindda interesting..I was expecting less air flow restriction therefore the pressure difference lower, since the rear(exit) side shall be reading more air flow similar to the front( entry side)..therefore the difference between front and rear pressures closer to each other.
"Teaching the DPF after replacing" will reset the soot and ash content to zero. It doesn't necessarily mean they are clean. The differential pressure is still reading high for engine idle speed. It should be no more than 0.145 psi. You should have cleaned to DPF properly before resetting.
Thank you for so much detail . What model was the van ? I have a 313cdi Mercedes Sprinter 2148cc here in the UK , completely different engine / exhaust.
Great video and instruction. Is it recommended to use the compressed air canister to help clean the filter better or are you using it due to the awkward location of the tube/hole ? (I guess what I'm asking is, can you simply use a funnel and pour the liquid directly into the fill hole or do you have to use the compressed air ?) Thank you
great video. i have p242f. but 2008 sprinter drives fine. i don't notice any loss of power. it is not in LHM. I just got the liqui molly clean and purge today. i will attempt it tomorrow. so you didn't even use the scanner to do the regen in this video correct? you just did the liqui molly and then drove it for 20min? thx!
da sooperb I did the driving regen in this video! but since your vehicle is not losing power, I will recommend clearing the codes after spraying the DPF cleaner and then drive the vehicle on the highway for at least 30 minutes!
Hey, like the videos. I have a few Mercedes sprinter vans so I have watched all the related videos. One of the sprinters has a p3007ca code on it, saying the efficiency of the dpf is not sufficient, it is regenerating okay but check engine light coming on within 20mims of dpf reaching 0% Any thoughts?
Hi there, is that the DPF or the Oxidation Catalityc, I'm asking because Alldata shows the ine you are spraying the chemical as an Oxicat and the one down the pipe as tha DPF and I'm doing mine following your instructions, thank you very much
Carlos Hernandez you need to spray this liquid in the DPF, the DPF is between those 2 tubes, I recommend you undo the first tube nut or the temp sensor next to it to spray that liquid in the DPF!
Great job! It good to see just how a problem can effect performance. I got to get me a ScanGauge for my 2022 Sprinter 3500 V30 Chassis. Any recommendations? Thank you
Do you have a suggestion on a Autel model that does mostly want I need to use that won’t break the bank? I seen some models over $1000. I don’t need a commercial model, it’s mostly for my MB Sprinter. Thanks!
K Diagnostics: I have a Autel Maxicheck 808...and it's doesn't support DPF force regeration (although "listed, but un-supportd" in service app). You said you purchased the spraying tools from eBay. Could you be specific on what search verbiage you used to get those specific items? (by the way..Autel's support on sprinters(a lot of "unsupported codes", and code readers has been poor, at best! Buyer beware on model
libertycourt1 Thank you! if you write liquid molly spray can on the ebay search bar it's gonna up, and you're gonna need a scan tool that can do a forced regeneration!
Hello, are these sprays suitable for engines with DPF placed after the turbo, in the front of the engine? Isn't there a possibility for some of the spray to get in the turbo and from there in the engine?
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair lots of things are different from a 2007 to 2012. To name one DEF - your DPF looks a lot different from the one I have on my vehicle.
Hello, I have a 2008 sprinter 3500 but I don't have any light on, no sign or code. Will I be able to clean it without having any code or will there be a problem if I clean it like this.
Great video! I agree when you said early in the video that the DPF Presure difference should decrease after DPF clean and regeneration, BUT, it actually increased (from about 0.174 psi to 0.261 psi). Do you know why it increased instead of decreased? Thanks!
Have you ever needed to do 2 cycles of liqui moly or if the first cycle doesn't clean it effectively then would it be better to assume a replacement is needed? Also, is there an PM schedule recommended for cleaning the dpf?
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair Ohh wow that's about 100x the price I was looking at 😂 £3200, I was thinking of a 500-700 Autel reader. I will need to check the one I want can still do all this for mercedes vans though 🙃
I’m sure you’ve heard of the recall of magnetic material that tells camshaft position is faulty can result in catastrophic accident another attaboy for the FCA crime syndicate
Ok i got all the stuff but i noticed that on a 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 eco deisel the presure line is located on the left side making it easier to unscrew and i almost took off a sensor line wich is not what im aiming for because the sensor lines are very hard to unscrew because they are literally so tight i can't unscrew them with a simple wrench. I will upload a video of the matter as soon as i can to give you my results. Thanks again.
Hello my friend I”ve been seeing your video I have a Mercedes 2011 sprinter 2500 that will only go up to 5mph do you think you can help out and what can I do
I have a freightliner sprinter 2015 3500 on the dashboard I get STARTS IDLE and it doesn't run more than 5 miles can you help me with that problem? Thanks!
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair Hi, to reset the learned values from the old sensor in the PCM is the Teach In process with the scanner? THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP !
What is the normal percentage on DFP? Coz my vehicle sometimes decreases and regenerates again but i got engine light popped up and after keep driving it will disappear again what is going on please give me answer
Hello friend I have 2015 2.1l sprinter no problem with soot or DEF so far but it's possible I can clean the exhaust with spray you show in video with out regeneration procedure , I don't have the scanner tool I'm do it just to prevent maintenance after spray it driving in high way to clean it ! Do you recommended it ? Also what's your recommendation if I want to buy scanner service tool for the sprinter which model and version with out yearly fees , scanner can provide wiring diagram, diagnostic, turn on and off components etc , Thanks
Abe . Qasim you can spray the liqui molly DPF Cleaner in the DPF then drive it on the highway and you should be good since you don't have any DPF issues yet! it's a good way to prevent soot accumulation, An Auto scan tool would be best for these sprinters!!
Hello sir, I have a 2007 sprinter with the 3.0 it is in limp mode I can only go about 40 mph but I have no check engine light on. I did a scan and have 2 errors P0473 and P0404 I’m going to change out these parts What else can I do to solve the limp mode issue. Thank you any info will be helpful.
One cuestion bro i have a 2008 dodge sprinter 3500 turbo diesel and i can find the DEF diesel exhaust fluid deposit i dont where is it or dhis year doesnt need it ? Can you please give me your opinion.
Where are you based bro? Are you in the UK? I’m having the exact same problem and I have figured out everything I just need help with those blue wires through which you can spray it inside the DPF. If you are local, I’ll straight come to you
