Car manufacturer always under spec all cars coming to South Africa. Its so annoying and make one jealous of US, Europe, Australia and Asian cars with all those luxurious features even on the smallest models.
Nice informative review as usual ... thanks. Did you find the engine noisy under acceleration? I test drove one a few days ago and was surprised how raucous the engine was when I accelerated. Maybe the car was in Sport Mode rather than Comfort Mode. I have heard that it is noisy when in Sport Mode. I will have to go back to the dealer to check.
Great review as usual. THere's a mistake on the rear suspension, both GLA 200 and 250 are using the trailing link independent suspension, so no torsion beam for the GLA 200, refer to the technical data :)
Great pickup Michael. The GLA 200 does pick up multi-link rear suspension in Australia, unlike the A-Class. Just waiting to remove that note from the video.
A couple things I would like you to comment on in your reviews are; what type of spare is included (as it is important for Australia IMO) and also whether the dash reflects in the windscreen. I know you mention the spare situation in this video but I am asking that you comment in all your videos. Too bad MB treat their customers badly when they have a problem.
No spare here, as I mentioned, which isn't ideal. If the dash does reflect, I mention it - for example the new RAV4's digital cluster gets really washed out by sun. But if I don't mention it, it's because the dash is matte, as it should be, or the instruments aren't obscured by the sunshine.
I'd also like to know driving manners at low speed, in stop/start situations. Too often the current generation of transmissions are terrible in traffic which is where too many of us spend our time. Otherwise, great work!
@@andrewdowney7175 I didn't' think to include that comment but you are right. With many cars being fitted with DCT gearboxes, the low speed manoeuvre can be an issue. I was watching UTube with supercars and the number the when reversing. hit something behind them because the car has no low speed control.
@@larjkok1184 I had a Mazda SP25 and had two punctures in two months. I have Genesis and had to run around on a space saver whilst a replacement tyre was obtained by the service centre. The tyre was punctured when I hit a hole i the road surface. As for what decade, it wasn't decades ago. Don't be so sarcastic if you are going to comment on someone's comment.
We have a new GLA with a few Months and we love it to bits, as you get older normal cars are so low down but the GLA is so easy to get into and has a great road view, ours is a 2 litre Diesel 150BHP, does 50 Miles to the gallon, now a few things that bugs me they all have fake exhausts but the do make the car look good, and fake leather as well, the call it man made leather, I love the Power Domes in the bonnet. go and buy one ......

TOM! Me again. Would you say this is quieter/more refined than the Q3? The interior is a draw, but I’m frustratingly loyal to the VA Group. Also considering waiting for the new A3 instead.
Thanks - this is a lot more expensive than the CX-30 ($65k for the GLA 250 compared to what, $45k for the CX-30 Astina) - I think I'd closely consider an Audi Q3 40 TFSI Quattro.
Great review Tom. I am amazed for a vehicle with a A$70K d/away price, there is no rear center armrest/cup holders and In my opinion, the GLA ‘s look is rather bland.
You can tell where the Audi Q3 has had costs cut for VW’s 14.7 billion dollar n counting black hole of dishonest consumer cheating of Diesel-gate. There aren’t even map pockets on the back of the front seats 😂
Sorry but that dog bone shaped lower bumper on every current Benz is the ugliest aesthetic feature imaginable. Would have "killed" for any 1980s MB but these modern cars look awful. (PS: good review nevertheless Tom🤣)
Tom Baker, I enjoyed your reviews and thought that being Australian and testing Australian delivery cars (on the most part) I feel that it is necessary to unsubscribe as I don't enjoy egotistical unknowns trying to belittle others who ask legitimate questions or make a comment about a product. I wish you luck and hope that your audience appreciates your channel.
Chasing Cars totally agree, Q3 looks much better. I will buy GLB if I am happy to pay a bit more or A250 if I am happy with low riding and save some cash.
