thanks friend, thanks to you I realized that 3.3 volts are present only when an optics signal is received. I repaired the amplifier, it turns out the previous master removed the resistor and the transistor was always open, despite the commands from the block of Lodzhik

I there. Fantastic work!!! I am a very well experienced technician too. I have one of these amplifier in my shop. It is not heavily corroded. I need a new little inductor maked 1H0, 1 uH. I need to know the exact specifications of the inductor, especially the ampere spec, etc. This part is near your shorted line on your video, just aside the capacitor ‘ short!’ Indeed.. Little ic L5973 is the 3v3 generator. The output pin is low. Seem defective! But liitle bit of soot\oxydation can disturb Vref

Where about in the uk are you, ive got a s320cdi with harman kardon sound system and ive got no sound at all the navigation starts but not sound and also the radio stations dont show up and ive been told the amp is faulty.

Today my cabin filled with smoke coming from R passenger door. Unfortunately, this is 5th failure I’ve had with the HK systems in 16 MBs I’ve had over years. Always needs new Amps and speakers. What is the issue? Love my CLS 550 but close to 100k I unfortunately wasn’t surprised. Suggestions on as to completely retrofit entire speaker / amp system ???? Thanks

I have managed to find a used inductor from an old playstation console to follow my test. I did full voltage testpoints and i am not getting the 3.3volts at trigger show light into optical input. I have discovered that the signal is well trigger by testing voltage near the little red connector ( just above it). I get a strog 5volts dc when i am showing the light onti optical. It seem that little glass diode ( seem to be germanium type , some kind of zener 3.3volts diode that generate the proper 3V3 power… It is difficult to manage without wiring diagrams with information of theses littles parts… ;)

Looks like too much useless work was done… The problem was in capacitor, why did you change everything around?

I tried fix my amplifier. I haven't got 3.3v, any idea, where I should look? Electrolyte capacitors ok, no ide about ceramic on, haven't got any diagrams. If I put light on voltage is going about 0.6v only

i have 3.3 volt but nothing on right side of board and fan does not twitch when power apply ??

Well i managed to try to repair one of this amplifiers, with missing 3.3V and shorted OASYS IC, by replacing all smd pars near LB 3.3V IC and OASYS chip, but now amplifier is getting the right voltages and fan start for short then stop, and see red flashing light when i get close with a flash light on the MOST Connector. Amplifier gets arround 700 miliamps from power supply when gets light , but still not working when connected in the car. Do you have ideea what could be wrong? Thanks.

thanks for sharing your insights. You miss out the crucial part (vertical board) and your heat gun intensity is much too high so you have to resolder those tiny components again and putting additional stress on them. Probably because it seems you did not pre-heat the board. A lot of heat will dispensate through the big layers of copper. Sorry to say despite your efforts but this repair is waste of money for the end client
