A subframe doing whatever it wants to do while the rest of the car does something else sounds like a prescription for significant imminent unhappiness. I don't think I will be alone in having had my eyes bug out on this one. Thanks for the heads up to all and sundry.

Hey when does the video about the w123 North America Facebook group come out? Enjoying your candor in the comments, though it will almost certainly result in them throwing you out eventually. They seem unable to deal with anyone who expresses an opinion they dont agree with. It is a form of censorship.

Yeah you're not alone in the shock of this news. I have a w115 and I'm sure it needs this. I haven't given the mounts a good look, but it's a 45 year old car and that's all I need in order to assume it needs them

Jacob, the 115 has mounts in all four corners. they tend to flatten out, causing the subframe to shift during driving

Invaluable! Just purchased a full new set for my W115 from Mercedes (thank God they still supply them)! Chinese aftermarket parts are crap!

Hi Pierre, could you make a video about the rear subframe? I have a W116 6.9 and the subframe mounts and rubber "bearings" are looking crusty, unsure of the best way to undo it - I don't have the differential holder described in the workshop manual. Perhaps it is time to rig one up? It seems many people have jacked the car improperly, leading to deformation of the sheet metal and parts around the jacking points. I don't want to make the same errors.

love your videos...if you dont mind throw out some hours(approximate) it takes to do certain operations on your videos. I have a w113 and may want to tackle some of things on your videos- I know my way around American cars for the most part and inherited this California coupe and just love it. One thing I will never fix is the radio as the sound of this motor is just fantastic.

if you have not done it before, expect about 9-11 hours of labor...it really a two day job. the trick is reversing the sway bar and using it to hold up the engine

In a 1973 R 107 how do you align the center bolt to the rear subframe when replacing these mounts. Can seem to align the bolt even though I have adjusted the rear subframe up and down amy tricks on this?

What should one expect to pay for the list of repairs that you covered in this video (parts and labor included)?

subframe mounts only: parts are about $800.00 if you use a mercedes sway bar kit, engine mounts, mb bushings and febi subframe mounts. labor is about 9 hours.

@@mercedesclassicswithpierre1753 this would take the average guy 16 hours ... peirre is strong as hulk and has the focus of a brain surgeon. Rumor has it peirre can tighten a bolt with his fingers to 50 ft pounds.... no sweat
