Even though I own a BMW M2 I still miss my old Merc 190e 2.0L from the 90s. Apart from the very annoying wind noise through the doors on the motorway it was one very comfortable car to drive.
@@bartog1800 I seem to remember it was blowing a little wind through the window frames (around the glass) plus the car wasn't as aerodynamic as cars are these days by far. It was still a nice car to drive though back then.
@@peterarsenault2671 ive got a 2.0 from 1992. Third owner from new. First owner was a Mercedes mechanic here in France. Cosworth stainless steel exhaust system . The old girl has 500000 on the clock and i just did a weekend away to Bordeaux. 7l/100 km and average speed 110km/h Average!!
@@guyvanbrussel9772 Most people are convinced that if a vehicle isn't all rounded off completely at the corners and the windshield(windscreen) isn't swooped back at 20 degrees that it can't be aerodynamic at all. Essentially they see many car's as "bricks" but they can be more aerodynamic than they appear. Watch the video here on youtube about the creation of the 190e. Extremely impressive.
Mine is the 4 speed 1.8 1989 version. In the owners manual it says 185 km/h top speed. Do you think it could go faster ? I have seen guys going 200 km/h with the same engine spec.....how come????
Keine Sorge, der war in echt auch in weniger als 11,5 Sekunden auf 100, nämlich genau 10 Sekunden... Die Angaben von Mercedes waren immer untertrieben.
