Thank you! Great video! Helped me locate the vacuum location for the EGR and fuel regulator... mine had been removed at the throttle body and the nipple on the throttle body had been capped off, then the two lines that met at a y junction were stuffed into that port on the vertical intake boot.
thanks for the video and thanks for the awesome filming skills ! Everything crystal clear. i have my laptop in the engine bay while i reinstall manifold and injectors !!
24:04 - I broke those hoses as well but actually broke the ports where those vacuum lines connect. What is the purpose to those 2 different sized connections other than making the car idle appropriately at park? Since my ports were broken, I bypassed it with a direct hose but noticed it idles too high at park until I added an adapter that had one smaller end (but still idles a little high at park). Do those 2 ports just channel a smaller volume of airflow? I guess I’m trying to find out if I need to replace that entire intake manifold. That whole part is ridiculous 🤦♂️
manpdhi I think you talking about Bowden cable and it will change the shifting ,,, if you back it out it will deley your up shifts and if you screw it in transmission will shift sooner
Andy, along the top the manifold, just above the first bolt to the right of center is a port which looks like some kind of vacuum connection. I don't see anything connected to that. Is there supposed to be a hose connected there?
Hi Danny. Look at this pic......you're talking about the port between cyliner 4 and 5? No there's no vacuum connection there. cdn4.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/Mercedes-W124/47-ENGINE-Intake_Manifold_Removal/images_small/pic21.jpg
Hello:) really appreciate your videos. Really well explained. Is your valve cover powder coated ? If so, is it also done on the inside ? Have a 320 which needs its valve cover resprayed because of the known problem with paint flaking off
Hi there! at 23:06 i sight a "plastic tube with a rubber band at its end" that you put on the manifold, what's it for! I was changing the water pump and suddenly I found it "loose" behind it (pump) and I dont know where to re install it back.. Since it's not in its position, my mercedes has relenti troubles.. can you help me?
HI ANDY, TWO BREATHER HOSE GOES TO THE UNITE ON INTAKE , IS THAT UNITE DOES ANY CONNECTION WITH INTAKE MANIFOLD? ANY HOLES OR WHATEVER ? OR THOSE TWO LINES JUST CONNECTS IN THAT UNITE THATS ALL? MINE HAS CRACKS ON BOTH SO HOW ABOUT IF I BYPASS THAT UNITE AND CONNECT THEM OR CONNECT THEM TO SOME THIRD PARTY KIND OF UNITE ? IT WILL WORK? I ASK THIS TO MANY MECHANICS THEY KNOW SHIT
I need help with my Mercedes Benz c280 it won't start I bought new fuel pump and filter the one that go under in the back next to gas tank and the injectors won't get the gas it only starts for 20sec then turns off what should I do
I completed a smoke test today and found smoke coming out from underneath my intake manifold. I am not noticing any performance issues. I did replace the intake sleeve but had a heck of a time tightening the clamp at the bottom near the throttle body. I suspect a leak there...But, could be a leak somewhere else in the area. Did you do a smoke test after the repair and did the repairs work? It looks like it took you maybe 12 hours or so? About how much time should I set aside....I am not as talented as you but am willing to work slow.
Hi Tony. I didn't find anything suspicious and reassembled using new seals. I can't remember now what was the exact problem of running wrough. Best indication if you have a vacuum leak is to look at LONG TERM FUEL TRIM value. It should be close to zero. I didn't do a smoke test after, cause I didn't have a smoke generator at the time
Hi I have a Mercedes c280 and it won't work we tried changing the spark plugs and some other things like when we use it the car goes and stops goes and stops...its like the car is accelerating and stopping on its on
Hi, What year is your car? See if you can connect a scanner to read the codes. I think you should look closer at the fuel system. If you are in neutral are the engine RPM stable?
how difficult it is to remove the intake manifold of W124 with M111 engine? the PCV is under the intake manifold it is defective causing oil to accumulate in the engine head causing oil consumption. my star is 285000 km.
@53:42 Those 2 fuel hoses which you use 17mm and the other one 15/16mm. What do you call those hose and it's purpose? Do you know the part number? Mine has crack. Thanks
Thanks for the info. I am here in Manila and I think there isn't any local MB dealer though there is one that is known to have exorbitant prices and services for your benz. I'll check out ebay. Thank you
Анди здраствуйте было бы классно если сняли на русском языке очень мало таких обзоров, очень интересно было бы посмотреть обьяснение по вакумным трубкам
