► The front brakes on your Mercedes W203 are one of the most important safety items on your car. If you're experiencing any pulsating, grinding, squeaking, or it has been over 50,000-miles since your last brake service, it's time to replace those old brake pads and brake discs. In this DIY, Michael Hidalgo walks you through the steps needed to tackle this job on your own on a Mercedes C230.

you could put the sensor on before the caliper, It wont be an issue. also you should inspect your guide pins and clean up and lube up to make sure they will not seized up and cause uneven wear.

Good points, was going to say the same thing about guide pins. Especially in the rust belt, keep the pins lubed and clean! Twice mine seized up

Hey great informative video, I got the set off of your website and did my brakes. I do have a question tho: shouldn’t the guide pin bolts be torqued to 25 Nm instead of 8 Nm? I’ve seen different people doing it to that

It seems like this isn't that complicated of a job as long as you have the correct tools. I'm sure that once you do it for the first time that it will be easy doing it again in the future.

Are TRW excellent pads and longtime?

We've found them to have a great brake bite/feeling. As far as how long they last, that depends on your braking style

I have a 2004 C320 Base model. I keep seeing parts that say "1 or 4 piston front calipers". How do I know which rotor/pad kits to purchase?
@fcpeuro
@fcpeuro Год назад
Hi Yancey! One-piston calipers will be known as a "sliding caliper" and will look a lot like the ones you see Mike working on in this video. Both two- and four-piston W203 calipers are a "fixed" caliper, and will look pretty different to the ones you see in this video. Aside from the fixed calipers generally having the "Mercedes-Benz" branding across the face of the caliper, you can also search for photos of Mercedes Part Number 0024200883 and 0034203683 to compare the fixed calipers against ones on your C320. Hope this helps!

Should buy original Mercedes parts

Yeah and paid 3 times more for the price compare to the oem parts.. nope i will stick with oem parts on lot of hardware on my mercedes.. buying original mercedes parts is only waste of money, lot other high quality parts from germany such as vaico, meyle and many more.. even my internal engines components such as timing chain set i use oem germany parts instead of original.. been owning 3 mercedes in my life and those oem parts never gave any trouble.
