If you've just replaced your brakes, it may also be a good idea to check your brake fluid. Often, the fluid in the master cylinder may be contaminated/dirty, but it's usually the fluid within the lines that is the most dirty. Also, brake fluid is hydroscopic, meaning water can collect within the fluid and create pockets of air as the fluid heats up; this can be dangerous as it can cause the brake pedal to go soft.
It's a good idea to bleed/flush out your brake lines and master cylinder at least every 40,000 miles, or whatever your vehicle's manufacturer recommends.
Today, Kyle B shows you how to do a complete brake system flush and fill on your Mercedes CLK 550. In this video, he performs the job using ROWE fluids.

It would be helpful to discuss the order in which to bleed, farthest to nearest to the master cylinder/fluid reservoir. Also, you should state the SBC disclaimer up front and that it requires a special diagnostic tool to use on the SBC when performing the bleeding with that system.

?? what do you mean can you please elaborate. i just changed my brakes on my 09 CLK350 and im about to perform a brake bleed. I dont believe i have SBS but i could be wrong, do i need to worry about something following my brake bleed?

I agree about the SBS. Particularly as it is basically ignored as not truly important. Particularly as there is no mention where to go for an SBS system, no link, no tools offered??

Late to the party here, but will you guys EVER address flushing the ABS pump when advertising these bleeder tools (which are, I am sure, very good, I'm a fan :) ) ? On any car with ABS the ABS pump needs to be flushed as well. This can happen by activating it. Activation was easy on older cars (there would be two dedicated terminals on the pump to jump together which activated the pump), but on most recent cars, all brands, you need a smart enough scanner or dedicated software to activate it via OBD. That, or you'll have all your system flushed fresh, and old liquid in your ABS pump, which will mix with the rest the first time your ABS activates. Or, if you use the "Flush fluid, go driving, activate the ABS on a slippery surface, flush again" system - please be clear about it ?

Thanks!! Great video. THis is so much easier than oil change wow. Only issue though my Motive Bleeder is defective and was leaking in between the gold nuts. So, wasted so much fluid and had to push the pedal to make it work. Will be calling them for a replacement. Otherwise, job well done and now my brakes work again. :)

Your bleeder wasn't defective. You have to use teflon tape to seal the threads. That's why the instructions spell out the method for testing the system dry.

I did the job but now I need to get an expensive tool to bleed the ABS pump because car won’t stop. Mercedes years 2000+ require this. Don’t change your brakes yourself unless you have this tool.

Do you really have to flush the fluid or you can simply refill the tank?

Just refilling the tank will not replace all the fluid in the braking system.

First off all the old dirty fluid was not completely taken out on that last side it was still coming out all dark and only way to tell is by actually dumping the bottle and seeing clear fluid, also like jetta said it would be helpful to mention the bleeding pattern or order as many people watched this so that they could find out how to do it but after the comment on that first one i think he was going on a Z pattern
