A downpipe is a great idea if you are planning on getting an ECU tune. The tune can unlock 5-10 more horsepower with a downpipe upgrade as opposed to stock.
I am 19 and just bought a c300 a couple months ago I absolutely love the car as it was my dream car. The first thing I got was the gtr style grill, and just recently lowered it on h&r springs. I was thinking of getting a down pipe but it was a little pricy. At first I wanted to cut the mufflers but the car is my baby and wanted to do it right. I have a 2018 C300 Cabriolet and so far I have no performance mods but only some aesthetic mods like a hood wrap and so on. Anyways I’m looking to start modifying my car performance wise so I hope to be the winner of this Down pipe give away.
I can’t really tell, but to me, the smell smells the same as how it was stock. I have a 2016 with a 3” downpipe, straight piped, high-flow drop in k&n filter, and an ob2 plug and play tune. Got a blow-off diverter valve on the way and eventually I’ll probably get the jb4 tune and a bms intake
Mine smelled pretty bad, I had it checked for leaks but nothing. That’s a crazy exhaust set up and not have the smell. I’m thinking of going JB4 for fun and see what difference that makes as well. Good luck bro!
@@TVang that’s what I did to my F250 7.3 diesel turbo. It has the banks kit in it. I’m having a hard time finding stuff for the E300 though. The turbo is so tiny too. It’s 1/6th the size of the one on my diesel. Has to be a T1 or something.
@@TVang have you done any audio upgrades? I have everything except the active tweeters but the 8” sub in the floor really leave a lot to be desired still. I want to drop in an amp and build an enclosure in the trunk floor for a 10” or 12” sub.
Hello! Loves the video and very interesting points. I purchased a 2015 c300 and I’ve done couple things to it. I put a front lip, changed the grill to the gtr one. And powder coated the wheels. But now I’m looking into improving the sound and I really don’t thing a muffler delete is the right thing to do. I came across your channel and it inspired me to get a downpipe, but they are too expensive and outside my budget. I live in the SoCal area, I’m a full time student at San Diego state university and I also film, if you ever need a second camera man I’m always down to help.

Great review! Not from the US but I have been modifying my 2016 c300 lately. I have added a spoiler, the GT grille, and also a brabus styled front lip. I also deleted my resonators and mufflers and honestly, doesn't sound bad for a 4 cylinder. I have been learning to wrap parts such as doing a chrome delete and also the mirror. I have a BMS air intake and plan to get a downpipes with a stage 2 tune in the future.
I want to delete my resonators too but might end up going with a full exhaust. Sounds like you got most of the bolt ones ready. Time for the turbo upgrade😅

That’s a good route! You won’t have to worry about the smell, my biggest concern was being at a stop light and having a cop behind me....... sweating... lol
There is a design flaw with the M274 engines, especially with the early editions of 2015-2016 and even some 2017 models. Be careful with the mods, some of these engines tend to fail within the first 60,000 miles. I had to rebuild mine at 19,000 miles and it was all stock... Mercedes would not recognize and recall the problem. If you are out of warranty or modded, you are out of luck!
Good information, I just picked up a 2018 c class 4matic with 3900.0 Miles. Same color as yours. Was looking for a video on how to clean the intake and exhaust ports. Was wondering if you would be making a video on this.
Hi! Nice pick up, I love this metallic blue car. I do have an aftermarket air intake I have been procrastinating on installing as I’m focusing on my other car at the moment. If you are talking about cleaning the exhaust tips I really need to clean mine as well, I think I will be trying a mother’s polish.
A real experience. On various cars straight downpipe is a wrong part for direct injection turbo petrol or diesel car best solution is 300 cell down pipe but many people will attack me but is the truth
It’s fi exhaust, but Armytrix is awesome too. On both you have options on open and close valves for those times where you need a more quiet ride or open valve for music to your ear sound.
Hey i just turned 17 and have a c300 coupe really love it just would love to add alittle sound and power it is white tinted and all blacked out with amg grill just like yours would love to do more mods when i am able to spend the amount but have been working hard to. Love your car c300s are some of the best drivers!

I purchased my 2017 C300 4Matic not too long ago and absolutely love every minute of owning it. I have done purely cosmetic thing up to this point and would like to make her sound as mean as she looks now without going overboard! I have the carbon fiber lip and spoiler installed with the quad tip diffuser on the way. Including a sweet looking gloss white c63 Mercedes edition one stripe across the lunar blue body. Oh and of course trying to decide whether to go with the panamericana or diamond front grill.

Love the video! I’m not in SoCal but I have a 2018 c300 in designo cardinal red. BMS JB4 tune, BMS Intake, full chrome delete, PSM carbon fiber spoiler, carbon fiber front lip. What brand down pipe is that? It sounds awesome.

@@TVang Appreciate it man! I love the JB4 so far. I don’t know the exact gains but the butt dyno would guess about 30-35hp and it’s a lot more responsive on the low end. Definitely a blast to drive!
Not to sure about this platform, I have seen people upgrade the turbos with a tune and bolt ons get 300whp. I’m sure there are people who have really pushed these.
How are you I was watching your video and wondering all you installed is one of those almost two foot long downpipes that's shaped kind of like an S and that's it?? No res or muffler deletes or anything else. I have one and I was wondering if I should use that or if I should go all out and get the full armytrix exhaust. I didn’t have a tune it, but I don’t think 🤔 t pushed the engine at all. It added some power, quicker turbo spool up but it never felt like the m274 was under stress.
Wouldn't you be better off just getting a C43? With the money you would spend on modifications you can get a car with a lot better performance. Maybe the pricing is different in certain regions.... But here in the UK a 2018 C300 Coupe is like £23k and a 2016 C43 is around £28k
I have a 2014 c250 I already added a tornado tuning turbo delete and was wondering in your opinion would it sound better if I deleted the resonator, exhaust and down pipe or just delete resonator and put a flowmaster super 10 on? Or whatever the best combo is it’s confusing to me cuz it’s such a difference sound from my challenger. Please lmk
Hey! I actually just ordered the Tornado tuning intake from them. If you want loud and aggressive I would go catless, with resonator delete and a good exhaust. Flow Master 10’s are pretty good. It’s funny you say that I had a challenger RT with flow master 40’s and loved it. The C300 has half the cylinders but has a nice tone with the catless dp.

I sadly can no longer get insured for anything over a v6 😂😂 but thanks again for the advice! does go catless mean delete the catalytic convertor?
For me it was, even with the AC. It was mostly at a stand still. If your moving you won’t smell it. But at a light or just idling in a parking lot it’s pretty strong.
Hey what’s up! We got ours CPO as well, we did get the factory warranty also. The reason behind it is because of the turbo engine, I feel most NA Mercedes are usually reliable but being my first Benz with Forced induction I didn’t want to chance anything. I had a 335i in the past that was a junker so I didn’t want to deal with the headache of that again. The car has been good so far for us. Enjoy your new car, treat it right and it will do the same to you!
@@TVang yeah that would be nice i got a 2016 c300 66k miles now, almost paid off and i said to myself that ill never mod it and here i am now just got Hre ff04 wheels, h&r springs, diamond grille, gloss star, ambient light, Led tail lights since mine came with halogen(still need headlights) now i want to do either do downpipe or mid muffler delete, trying to have a nice daily car
