I own this exact same car (wagon, performance pack). I bought it as a practical cool car with 2 kids. The good is that it's fun to drive, anytime, anywhere. Lots of street cred and everyone wants to talk about your car. The bad is the running costs. In stop-go traffic you will get 20l/100km, minor service will be $500, brakes will be $1000 for a pair of rotors, even the special AGM battery in the boot is $500. You really need to love cars to own this car. It will test you.
Great review of a superb and very characterful car. There are just one or two little errors according to my best understanding. 04:30 You say that this Facelift Performance Pack car has an LSD whereas the earlier cars don't. This is wrong, at least for most markets. The Performance Pack will not get you the Option 471 AMG Performance LSD. At least not in the facelift model. Not even the Edition 507 had it from the factory. You had to order the LSD separately and it was a pretty expensive option. But early pre-facelift C63's had the LSD integrated into the P30 "Performance Pack" which didn't come with the engine upgrades. It's complicated and not every market is the same, but I do not know of any market where the Facelift Performance Pack C63 features the LSD without having to order it separately. Just something a potential buyer should be aware of. Also, at 04:23 you mention it has a number of extra carbon bits but to my knowledge the Performance pack only has the carbon trunk splitter on Coupé and Sedan. That's all. No carbon at all for the wagon. Correct me if I'm wrong. Also, I'm a bit surprised that you call the suspension harsh. I have a P31 Performance Pack Sedan (Facelift) and the suspension is extremely comfortable.
I've had both a pre-facelift PP car and now a facelift PP car, both with the optional LSD. I would describe the suspension as harsh on both 🙂. Biggest difference with the facelift for me is the gearbox (duh), which is considerably quicker and more responsive. The pre-facelift did have might hefty blips on downshifts when driven hard, which seem to be a bit more sedate on the facelift.
@@ErwinVervaet yeah, maybe the term „Extremely Comfortable“ was a bit too much. But I really don‘t find mine harsh (C63 P31 Facelift). Well, maybe it‘s because my other car is a GR Yaris with KW V3 which is brutally harsh 😂
