After a car battery change you may notice the side mirrors no longer fold in when locking the car. This can be resolved by changing the option under the settings, convenience menu.
Hey , thanks for your video, We have a clc 180 2010 and the driver side mirror signal light has failed the mot and the garage says they have to replace the whole unit as they can't just change the bulb because everything is a whole thing together. Do you have any input on this by any chance? TIA
Hi, this would not surprise me. On checking the unit it does look very well integrated. I expect it IS possible to open it up and just replace the LED/bulb but presume the garage would find it much easier to just replace the entire unit. You could open it up yourself and have a play - since worst case is you could just replace the entire unit anyway via the garage. Also worth asking Mercedes whether that light section is even available as a part. Since if you cannot buy the light then no point opening it up. Best of luck!

I wonder whether you need that option enabled at the dealer level in order to select the folding mirrors. Might be worth asking on the Mercedes forums perhaps.
i’m trying to do this on a mercedes viano ambiente 2015 with the exact same menus and controls, it still doesn’t function as expected. this happened when replacing the battery. is there any fix for this?
@@ChrisHorswill I've found a fix for it! As long as in the menu the auto folding mirrors are set to "On", they will work as long as the car has been driven afterwards.
Ah that's annoying. Guess this must have been an add on feature. I wonder if this could be enabled via Mercedes Diagnostic systems - similar to VCDS on VAG vehicles?
99% of the time my mirrors won’t open when I press the button. I can hear a motor trying to open them and a clicking sound as if something is catching and slipping. When I forced the mirrors to the open position and press the open button it closes the mirrors.
Does this happen on both? Sounds like both motors or cog assemblies might be damaged and need of repair or replacement. Perhaps just a few teeth are missing on the cogs for the open positioning rather than for the closing portion of the cog.
