I would still drive it on tracks like Abu Dhabi, Monza, and other smooth and non-hilly tracks. Its too godd looking and sunding to go to a museum and sit there.
Stunning looking race car...even now in 2010 it looks high-tech. Could so easily have been one of the great race cars. It also sounds menacing. Mercedes V8's have a fantastic growl. I would really love to have a 1:18 scale model sitting my coffee table, or better yet, be that rich guy somewhere in Europe who has the number 6 CLR in his collection
they have footage of the 1997 and 1998 gtr's mixed in with the clr's conception. i remember when they were testing out here at fontana. i remember hearing the car. it was really godly stuff. hearing it rake through the gears while going through the inner road course and onto the banking sent chills up my back. too bad the test session was closed to the public.
Well, to be fair, they made the first flying car in 1999, more than 20 years before the predicted year flying cars werw supposed to be available. I’d say the aerodynamics are decades ahead of its time, sunce we still don’t have flying cars today.
The did a 24 hour run on Fontana before Le Mans. From a layman's point of view, I think this was a mistake because ovals are not comparable to road circuits in terms of the aerodynamic pressures faced by the race car. What a shame. I almost cried when I saw the CLR flying.
Great, bought it off Aliexpress for 25$. I received it at home and when I go on the highway it sots of lifts a bit. I wonder why... I will let my mechanic look at it. Off I go using highway 138!
