The star screws are called "torx" and most oft the time you need T10 vor T15 sie oft torx screw driver

very good tip...put the battery inside the holder first, make sure it goes in exactly as it came out.

My wires were short as well so I had to use needle nose pliers to unplug and plug terminals.

​@@jacobpadilla3393just buy a quality 12V 1,2Ah sealed lead acid battery... Yuasa and Panasonic are two brands to trust your life and Mercedes on if you need ultra high quality agm battery (as Mercedes showed by the made in Taiwan sticker 😅)

@@the1charity just a heads up my buddy replaced the aux battery and did NOT have to disconnect the fuse. I have a 2012 E350 Base Sedan if that helps brother. Best of luck!

Your car is limousine or sedan with long boxy style rear end? This video is for the 4 door short small trunk sedan car which has no space in the back as every customer could order spare tire or ab blue diesel so the battery is mini small 1,2Ah instead of 7Ah or 4Ah 😊

The "voltage converter" is inside cars with no backup battery, so no that's not how it is done😮 W212 facelift ended in 2017? So you have younger newer E class or the parallel more modern c class with voltage converter?

During crash provides emergency power to airbags and sets car to neutral, it can be seen In the documentation for the parallel time smaller but more modern platform C class model W205 where it is located in the front passenger foot rest and consists only of some parallel soldered up super caps. It is called "voltage regulator" but it is just a backup battery made from caps to replace lead acid battery 😂 finally they realized it is only useful for emergency, so less energy is needed. Storage is non volatile and take writes to it every shutdiwn easy 😂😂

@@232rahrah Just maintain it like the service manual asks, and almost nothing breaks.I have a bunch of video on different W212 E-Class things. Like my friend has one and refused to change the cabin filter and his AC started to smell.

It powers various things including, lane change warnings, eco start / stop, etc. The only thing I've really noticed in mine is that the "HOLD" function doesn't work.
