slipstream and drs, I think the car is also running hypersoft which is the fastest compound tyre. The most important part of the car is not the engine but the tyre. Which is why 2004 when there was multiple tyre suppliers in f1 still hold the track records today.
Top speeds are way slower than in reality it seems. No way an F1 car would keep up with the EVO which clocks 359kph at the end of Kemmel. And if it did in low drag mode, it would not stay with it through Eau Rouge.
Also the F1 in this video is using DRS Meaning the driver can toggle between normal downforce and drag reduction. Meaning he had full downforce for Eau Rouge and then you can see him open the rear wing on the next straight
Well, checking the real life facts, it seems the 919 Evo and modern top team F1 cars are equal in speed at SPA, producing times in 1.41 - 1.42 range. Lap record is 1.41.5 by Vettel, and Neel Jani scored 1.41.8 with 919 Evo.
I think in a race the F1 2017 car would win due to pure mechanical grip from the tyres in offensive defensive situations. Plus I don't see what trhe big deal is about EVO, anyone can do that when they have all the cheat codes on. Its a great feat of engineering but it's not a race car without regulations.
The 919 Hybrid 2016's physics tweak to match the 919 EVO is anything but a success. Real life 919 EVO may not catch modern F1 at corners but is much faster on the straight.
Obviously not the Evo without the restrictions like in real life. What everyone has to remember is, they broke 2 lap records (Spa and N.burg). But especially at Spa, they only had so much time to practice and what not. The record could be even faster than the 1:41.

Mário Gasparotto exato, F1 atualmente com tudo de tecnologia quw que já foi desenvolvido ao longo de todos esses anos poderia facilmente ultrapassar os 700 km/h sem exageros, só que o regulamento estrangula demais, nos anos 80 os motores turbo alimentados já rendiam mais de 1.500 cv...hoje os motores atuais facilmente poderiam render mais de 5.000 cv, sem nenhuma espécie de limitação de regulamento, aí talvez ficaria difícil existir ser humano pra suportar tamanha violência no desempenho !!
The Record is : 1,41,770 Last year Lewis Hamilton recorded : 1,42,553 in Q3. This year the cars are faster by one second a lap so i really think its possible ;)
The important part is that they modified the car dramatically such that it is no longer in compliance with regulations. If you allowed Mercedes to make the car as light as they want and to use the engine totally unrestricted by fuel-flow regs or the need for it to last several race weekends, they could easily smash that time by a good 5 seconds.
Funny how F1 only fans somehow try to defend their sport here :D The 919 Evo is even faster than 2018 F1 cars, just deal with it. F1 2018 is amazing, I watch every race, but the 919 Evo is just a one of a kind car from the, in my opinion, ultimate best car manufacturer. We should all just appreciate that Porsche build this car and goes on tour with it.
Nope, F1 holds it again. If you increased the amount of fuel flow, allowed trick tyres, increased battery deploy and increased the downforce the F1 would be miles quicker...but wouldn’t be F1. It’s a formula ffs, this plus this equals F1. The Evo was not an LMP1 it was a trick car, which was still beaten by F1. This year’s Merc will rip the time to shreds.
The other evo 919 mk2 was tuned 1200 hp they let to change the downforce and use the drs whenever they want and the previous f1 record was from f1 2017 with 800 hp only not let the downforce change and can use drs only once (with the normal regulations the meaning). Iam not fan neither f1 neither lmp1 but was little unfair. 2018 f1 have 1000 hp so the record from spa will break very very soon my friends and brothers.
Anderson Clayton na verdade eu achei estranho esse vídeo, ao menos que os carros de 2018 esteja andando pelo menos uns 4 segundos mais rapido que os de 2017 pode ser que faça sentido, mas pelo que vi nas pole de 2018 não é bem isso, até estão mais rápidos mas o vídeo ai está muito exagerado, ou então o cara do Porsche que era ruim de volante pq a diferença entre eles era pra ser bem menor isso se ela sequer existesse, já que o porsche 919 evo andou mais que o carro de 2017 da Mercedes em spa na pole do ano passado.

during the 2018 round the F1 lap record will comprhensively beat the 919 evo at Spa...No car absolutely no car will ever be faster around a race track than an F1 spec car..the commercial organizers and especially Ferrari are deeply aware of that..Ferrari's prestige as sports car manufacturer is directly related to the prestige of F1 and to some extent Porsche's prestige is tied to the 24 hours of Le Mans....if F1 is no more the top game in town, Ferrari's brand value crashes
Hamilton was on purple tires if the pink is at spa that mean 2 compounds softer because in 2018 all coumpound are softer than 2017 so only with the pink tire they beat the record
LOL, total BS. Firstly, those were VERY slow laps. about a 1:47 from the F1 car and 1:51 from the 919. Secondly, the F1 car could never have passed the 919 because the 919 has way more top speed AND low speed acceleration. In Baku, even with a Mercedes power unit + slip stream + DRS + 2 Km straight, Perez only managed 342kph? The 919 does 359kph by itself going up hill at Spa.
Honfy Lam With the right set up (very low downforce) F1 can reach 350/360 Km/h with these regulations, in Mexico 2016 Perez reached 370 Km/h, in 2005 BAR Honda did an unofficial (like everything the 919 Evo will achieve) 413 Km/h top speed record.

We are obviously talking about qualifying since they have to do 300 Km with 105 Kg of fuel, if it was like a decade ago with multiple tyre suppliers and refuelling the lap times would be much lower, thus smashing the 919 Evo. Tye only luck involved is that the F1 cars will do that under both technical and sporting regulations
