This is a detailed video showing how to replace the foam in the sunvisor of a Mercedes w107 SL.The video also shows how to remove and treat the rust on the metal inards and how to neatly re-seal the seam on the sun visor.
A nice plump what @ 7:55? A nice plump... I'm having a hard time removing mine. There's a screw on the outside edge of the plastic piece with the socket that holds the ball part of the visor frame. I backed the screw out but there must be more to it. 40 year old plastic stressed to its limit!
Remember that for the visor to slide off, the lower edge needs to pointed up towards the sky (see 9.19). Yes you are right - I meant sun visor at 7.55. Mike
Thanks for your comment. You are probably right although if there is a slight bulge, it’s not something you ever really notice. I’ll take another look when I get to this section on the red project car. Mike
Yes - you are quite right. It is good to see the actual work being carried out...mistakes ands all. I did this work at home and left my camera stand in the garage....otherwise you would have definitely seen footage of me sticking my figure tips to the visor before realising that 'less is more' when it comes to super glue!.
