Hey guys, in this video we will show you how to remove and replace rear SAM Module on Mercedes W211. We demonstrated on a 2003 Mercedes e320 rear SAM removal. It is hard to diagnose bad SAM Module, we have a video on our channel that explains a possible way to see if your SAM Module is bad.

My rear SAM unit is faulty in my 2001 W203 (C240). Can I just purchase a replacement rear SAM unit online and do a simple swap out?? Or do I need to have my faulty SAM unit reprogrammed?? Pleaseeeee respond?? 🙏🏻

I have a C300 4matic no start no crank already checked the Sam located by the battery took it out and used a on meter and everything shows power going through everything, even the fuse with the yellow tips is giving me a positive reading .what to do next ,I swapped the three grey relays numbered them abc play musical chairs and still no start .is there a Sam in the rear of a c 300/2010 4 matic w204.or is it one of the black relays in the fuse box under the hood if so what number is the starter relay fuse,/module??, please help me guys.its been vor since 3/27/19

What tool do you use to program the rear Sam? I'm going to replace mine. I'm having multiple electrical problems. from sunroof, esp,bas abs light, emergency light center button panel not working, shift locked out and mainly constant dead battery, I change front sam didn't think to change rear I bought the car this way with a total suspension failure I fixed suspension. any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I don't think this dude replies back to people considering how long ago you wrote this unbelievable no you do not have to program the 211's up till 07 not sure what the year starts at but if you have something probably between 02 and 07 you just put the module in the rear no programming needed

I have a 2007 ML350 with a similar problem. The vehicle came in with comms down. After drying it out, repairing several shorts and a few replacing relays. I was able to retore communication. The dog legs on the Chip inside the (old) rear SAM melted onto the board, due to water intrusion leaving rear lights inoperative. The liftgate module and pneumatic opener/closer was also damaged. I replaced the liftgate module and cleaned up the board and was able to get the tailgate opening, however the taillights were still inoperative. I then replaced the original with a used SAM* the customer provided, however now the rear liftgate doesn’t work. I believe it’s a security issue and the replacement SAM needs to be flashed/coded. The Current Codes: 90C7 and C32D *The customer Provided a type R REAR Replacement SAM which has generated a few spurious codes: 9153, 90E0, and 90DE. I believe These codes are associated features this ML 350 doesn’t have. Who flashes these modules, because the Mercedes coding tool for this older vehicle is around $700 used?

I am having problems with my alternator not charging in my 2001 e320. I first replaced the volt regulator. That did not fix it. Then I replaced the alternator. That did not fix it either. Very good battery and tests good. Is there an unlisted fuse or relay in the SAM that controls the alternator? My SAM is under the rear seat with the battery.

I have issue with R320 CDI 2007. The driver side lights are not not working. the bulbs are good. could you please tell me what could be wrong. Is there a fuse I can check

My son bought a 2006 e350 Ran great Brang it home about 24 miles In the morning it started to rain My son noticed water in the trunk about 4 inches high to the battery My son gets into the car and it wont start It will crank crank crank but wont kick over We tried all the fuses I decided to take it in to the mercedes dealer The Mercedes huy said it's the sam unit and its gonna cost $1200 , I dont no if I should believe him Any help from anyone would be fucking awesome

Was Mercedes mechanic correct? Did you replace SAM? My drains (drain lines run along inside the top frame of car) were plugged thus trunk was getting wet..module replacement. Make sure to get those drain lines blowed out every now and again. 2005 E500

pls can you help me my mercedes is c class 2001 C 220 Disel on the bagage module board fuse nuber 2 is 20 amp i found damaged but when replace new one always when press on button on my chair always burning this fuse and my keys is on working condition but have another problem not lock fuse for keys 7.5 amp is ok but key sometime working sometime not works what is dameged module ? tnx

I replaced my battery 🔋 once and was on the phone while doing it. Needless to say the calm was important but no more important then me plugging it in backwards 🤦🏻‍♂️😭 that said I blew some fuses and replaced them accordingly. However I've had some issues after and wondering if the REAR SAM got toasted?!.. I removed the SAM several times to try and look for anything visible. But so far I've got nothing.

@@premowilson595 Can be found on eBay used for much cheaper. Just make sure the numbers match so you can TRY to avoid reprogramming.

Hi guys, thank you for your video. It appears that I've run into problems with SAM, as intermittent lights, tempomat, etc don't work. Is the solution just a question of taking out SAM, fixing by specialist and then reinstalling? Besides waiting at least an hour with unplugged rear battery disconnected (not front battery), is the anything else to be done, such as ECU programming or whatever? I have a specialist who is dedicated to only fixing all ECUs, so I thought I could take it out myself, have him to fix it and pop it in again. Kind regards

I hope they’re stripping that for scrap. The way they are chucking bits around they will never find all the pieces to replace it. Never seen anything like it two pairs of hands pulling at the same time. Guessing everything as they go what a pair of cowboys. I’d slap them silly if they worked with me.

marian deane where are you guys located I have clk 550 2007. Start issues replace fuel pump about to get new battery it cranks and engine turn but don't start. Any advice
