Here's how I fixed my front axle shaft bearing issue. Didn't filmed much, but if You need any details, jus shoot a comment. Thank You for watching. Stay tuned.
Thanks for the video, i have some strange noises also, bangs on small humps and when cold the shaft makes some grind noise when launching. Will try to see whats this and update. Same car w221 06
Can u pull out a 4matic front differential out of the S550? I think i damaged my CL550 differential. Im wondering if the differential can come out bottom?
There wasn't much room here, either. I've bought couple set of pliers, and tried from different angle. The key is to have the ring moving before using pliers. I mean You have to use hammer and some shaft to hit the ring in a manner, that it would start to rotate in it's groove. Only then I've been able to put pliers from underneath the car, squeeze it just enough so I could fit screwdriver and work my way around with many screwdrivers. That took some time and swearing, but job is done eventually.
It’s a pain in the butt, but it is possible to get it done on a glk with om651. I did it myself a few months ago. Just getting off the snap ring alone took me about 25 mins though… You will need multiple snap ring pliers to figure out which one will work.
Watch my video on my page I have a 2014 w212 I’m having a clunk noise on my front driver wheel i have changed control arm and wheel bearing and still have the noise let me kno what u think
Hi rasta homestead I am getting a clack or space between acceleration. If i accelerate very light theres no clack, but there's a humming & vibration going over 50 Mph on my 2013 CL550. I went over a ditch in heavy rainstorm. I'm wondering if its intermediate shaft? Driver side axle? Front differential ? Or all of the above. Something got damaged or gears stretched or broke tooth? Im going to start with replacing the driver axle. Is it possible to remove front differential? Because it looks like i need to move rack & pinion to make space for differential to come out. Your s550 looks about the same as cl550.
I have the same problem. I cannot remove the top part of the bearing from the oil pan. Please, can you show me the procedure to remove the bearing from the oil pan. You mentioned welding something. Please give me the steps. Thanks.
Hi. Yes, You need a welder to make thermal shock for outer race of a bearing. I don't know another way to remove it. No pullers is going to work. Just remove inner part of a bearing, and once only outer race left in oil pan, You have to put in welder, and weld couple of dots on bearing race. It will take a lot of heat, and You'll hear it pop. Now it's free, and You could remove it.
@@rastahomestead6097when you said you welded the outter bearing, did you use the torch on the bearing directly until it started to deform or something else? I’m stuck in that spot trying to use a bearing puller with no luck. Could you clear up what you did exactly?
@@j2thar1st Yes, I did welded some spots to bring heat to deform it. After some spots with welder, I've heard it pop, only then I used pulley to remove it. You won't be able to remove it without giving heat to it.
@@superior.904 Yes, I've cut a grove on a top. Just have to be careful not to damage the shaft. You go slow with angle grinder until it splits, then You simply remove it. If You watch carefully, You'll see the cutting mark in video.
