It seems that your test light bulb has some resistance but not much as a short to ground was tripped. I believe that the seat belt assy has a higher resistance to prevent the short to ground code, it would have been nice to check the closed circuit switch resistance, next time, thanks for all the great videos THUMBS UP.
Great video and very will explained. Got Mercedes vito 2013 last week and the wire which connects to the seatbelt buckle plug has been cut for some reason. Basically the plug for the seatbelt buckle is there but the plug which comes from the vehicle is missing. When I drive keep dingling sound there is no srs light but the light for seatbelt dosen't appear at all on the dashboard. I m thinking of removing the plug and connecting the wires wich is brown to blue and green to yellow. Sorry for the long post, i hope it makes any sense
Update. I've connected the wires and the srs light came on. The scanner showed faulty seatbelt buckle. I've ordered the buckle and should arrive on Tuesday.

Ok but if I don't have probes that small would jumpering the connector do the same thing as running the current through the bulb filament? Am I thinking right?
