Hello bro did u have problems with your transmission on your s320 owner of one too i had to change the transmission and can you tell me how much kg your s320 has
THANK YOU for this video..very detailed..I have a 96' S320 also with a bad pump, hope to see you test with the newer models! I've been wanting to fix my locks for years
So for some reason this is happening only every so often and I can't figure out why. My guess is a small leak in the trunk latch. This could be what caused the pump to go bad in first place
Haha any updates? Still working good? And how much did you get it for? I'm debating whether I want to risk it and just buy a used cheap from Ebay or have it rebuilt. The pump I have in my car is original and just makes a click noise when I push the lock button.
My dad bought a new 300SE in 1992... i was twelve at the time and it was gorgous! When my dad sold it, i was sad! I always wanted to see it again bc it reminds me of the good times before my mother died. This week after 28years i found the car and sat in the back seat like i used to and now i could even drive it! I bought the car and but it looks like shit. I hope i can make her fine again. There's alot i can learn form here i see bc my car has alle these issues
Great story and very excited for you. Please let me know how we can help. A lot of the subscribers and me have dealt with a lot of things along the way
Could you do a video showing the rear head rest function and issues, I put mine up in my 94 and quickly realized that the button doesn’t do anything to lower them back down, been like that since April 2021. Absolutely love your videos btw, definitely a big help in solving a majority of my issues that i have
A lot of times the switches go bad and are easy to replace. I would test this first. I’ve never had issues with mine but can walk you through diagnostics
I have a weird problem with that vacuum pump, when i put the car in reverse, the trunk lid pop out, but the assistant antennas for reverse dont come out. I never replace that vacuum pump, so the hoses are in their respective place...
Hey there what was the pumps part# please...I have the same issue on my 94 S500 that I recently purchased only to discover that it was owned by Bon Jovi for many years lol. Working on getting in back into perfect shape. Only has 86K on it interior & exterior are very nice just have a few minor issues like the pump. Thanks for this video it answered lots of questions for me....Daryl
@@petescarport I have pulled and looked at it but never disconnected it because I heard somewhere (maybe u in an earlier video) that it had to be programmed lol
@@dfl138 so the truth is the car won't start if it's disconnected, at least on both 95 models i owned. I was also under assumption that the pump needed to be programmed by dealer. That part is false. I heard this from a tech and should have never listened.
@@petescarport lol live and learn as I am from you!! Do you happen to know what port controls what on the pumps where the hoses connect? I hear the pump work but get no locks or trunk
Anyone know what to do if one of the plastic pieces that attaches to the computer breaks ? I sadly had the plastic connector part break do I need to replace the whole line now ?
Man I was so ready to change the pump got one mailed in and then while removing my current pump broke one of the plastic attachments to the tube, is that tube line ruined ? This shi suckssss
Hi I have a 1999 s420 the trunk latch won’t go in and the car won’t start is it possible that’s the reason why I’ve change spark plugs alternator starter and fuse but the battery won’t hold a charge and my friend climbed in the trunk and when I closed the trunk he said the lights stayed on
Interesting. It may be the drain for sunroof is clogged. Or another drain. I know this can cause water in weird areas. I had this issue in my Lexus and it would go under back seat. I ended up using an air blower nozzle to clear it out.
Hey again Pete. Thanks for that feedback on the pump & trunk issue. Instead of waiting to get to a mechanic tomorrow I decided to get on my Pete’s Carport ish & do some digging myself 😂. Considering the trunk issue I’m facing, I decided to look at the PSE pump as you’ve done here. After locating it I noticed the top most port (not the longer bit) isn’t plugged into the pump. Problem is I can’t find that respective wire for some reason. I just had the seats retouched so I’m wondering whether the respective wire for that port got moved around. Any ideas what that top most port controls? Could it be responsible for the close assist of the trunk? All other related PSE pump functions seem fine so. The odd part is after your 9 fuse suggestion everything worked fine. Now my trunk won’t shut at all. It won’t latch. But if I push the eye manually the related functions of the trunk seem to work including the retraction of the striker
Nice! Please remind me what was the issue with old pump or why you decided to replace the pump? I think I missed it. I only remember troubles with suspension. Thanks!
@@petescarport Thanks! My door locks are still working. But trunk latch acts strangely: when I close the trunk it's sucked inside but then it goes out in about less than a minute though trunk stays closed.
@@NoWheelDrive yes exactly what mine is doing now. I believe it's a small leak in trunk latch. It may be what caused my pump to go out. I will figure out and maybe do a video. I think I can fix it
@@petescarport Good luck man! Do it! Besides that trunk latch I need to fix my soft close doors. None work. I guess it's either pump or a leak. Once quarantine is over I'll re-watch your video regarding trunk pump...
Please could you make a quick video of your trunk soft close function. I need some reference. Because I think my trunk soft close function is not working either. Thanks!
I don’t have a used one but you can get them for way less. I just helped someone get one for $350 with warranty. Send me your exact part number and I can send you a link to one with a warranty or one used for even less
Hey man, Great Video Ma englisch ist not that good but i have a question. I have a problem with my W140 i fixed the pump and the rear handle is coming out but the handle is only coming out when the car ist closed and Not when its Open. So the W140 does the opposite side than it should do. Do you know what can be wrong? Hopefully someone can anwer That
Yes there is a plastic piece that spins when you close the trunk. This tells the handle to go in or out. I bet it’s positioned wrong. You can test this by opening the trunk and pushing down manually on the lock mechanism as if you were shutting the trunk. Handle should pull in. Than if you push the circle button to release trunk handle should come out. Below the lock mechanism is the trunk switch activator. You may have to take off trim to see this
Hey first of all thank you for the quick reply really very nice. I have also thought that it has what to do with the trunk lock. Normally it is also so that the small metal trunk switch must be pressed when the trunk is open, so that the Pse unit recognizes that the handle must be extended or ? However, the switch only triggers when the lock is closed. The whole car I have already taken apart so the trunk area all the wires and so are exposed. Where exactly is the plastic part that rotates ?
With my W140 it is so that as soon as I have opened the trunk lid and close the lock manually by my hand it is so that the handle moves out so it moves out only in the closed state and in the open state it moves in and i dont really know what That is. You have my subscription in any case youre a cool guy thank you for all
Hello from Thailand. I watched your vid and amaze by what you have done. My 1993 s500 coupe passenger side sometime works some time doesn't. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Sounds like you have a slow leak. What will happen is pump will time out and shut off that door to protect it. Then it will eventually reset and that's when it works again Easy way to test this is to pull fuse #9 in trunk and then try to see if it works. This is a way to reset the pump.
Pete’s Carport thank you or your comment. I have done reset fuse #9 for a long time and it works. But I have to do it so often and it’s such a shame in public and when it 100F outside. Can you suggest what can I do if I want to just slam shut and have the window roll up. I can live without soft close. Thanks again.
Wow. Did I really have the door open when I tried that? Lol. Honestly I was just so excited it worked. I will check in the morning but from what I remember that button had issues.
@@petescarport 👍👌 Don't forget to turn the lumbar support switch to zero, this too can cause the PSE pump to over running & if the lines from the PSE to the seats have a leaks it will constantly pump the air to the bladder in the seats. One more thing that can make your pump will not last long is when there is a leak at the vacuum valve block and the y11 valve block.
I have a 95 S600 sedan. Driver side rear passenger door will not soft close. Trunk pump is working fine. Fuse reset doesn’t help. Door used to work fine. No leaks heard from door. Do you think I have an issue with pump under rear seat? All other doors and trunk work. Thanks
So there is an easy way to test both pump and doors. What you need to do is swap lines on the pump to one that works. Then take door that doesn't work and make sure it's lightly close to point where soft close will work. Then close the door you switched the line with.
Hello pete i have 1995 s320 im having a problen but i dont know whats the actually part that is bad when i turn on the ac or the lights the car gets higher rpm and then it lowers almost to a stall can you help or anyone who had this problem
Sounds like a low or bad battery. These cars will act crazy if battery even starts to get low. Also could be an alternator issue. These alternators have brushes in them that wear out years before alternator goes bad. In fact some say the alternator will last forever if you change brushes
@@petescarport picked it up off of ebay from a seller that I have bought from before he says it was tested before removed from car. Got it for $75 so wirth the try!!
