This is great breakdown. I want to add something in case it helps someone. Make sure that when you put the case back on, the lock is in the closed position. If you do not, you will break the plunge switch in the white cover. Ask me how i know! This is witch appears to let the car know when the door is open or closed. If that is witch is broken, and you have push start, when you open the passenger door, all the other doors will no longer unlock and accessories will not power down.
Absolute legend. Had a couple of doors that were "machine gunning" and not locking but the springs were still intact. This has saved the day for me. Your lock seems to be the same as my 2005 A-class A150 W169 rear left door so looks like they use the same lock design. It's amazing how probably about 1mm wear of a plastic part can cause the world so much grief. Mercedes make some great cars but jeez you would have thought they'd have figured things like this out by now and design better. And I've now discovered Q-Bond which is amazing stuff. Thanks again.
Thanks for the very detailed video, I am currently having an issue where the door is not being sensed as open, everything else with the lock works. If I open and close the door multiple times it eventually senses the door is open. So I am thinking this is the micro switch, but if the switch was bad, I would think it would never sense, so perhaps it is mechanical in nature. Anyway, would you happen to know a part number on the micro switch or the springs that are attached to the mechanical piece that then contact the switch. Would like to have the parts on hand before I take it all apart. Thanks
