Mercedes W203 ESP ABS Module Replacement. ABS Light ESP Light on C160 C180 C200 C230 C240 C270 C280 C320 C350
We took this video to show you how to replace the ESP Module ( traction control and abs module) on a Mercedes W203 C class. The problem with this one was that all at sudden the ABS light and the ESP Light will be on, it says to visit workshop and the speedometer quits working. The tachometer will be working but the speedometer will not. If you scan it might show that the speedometer sensor it is not working but it actually is. The ESP (Traction control module get the signal from the speed sensor and then sends it to the instrument cluster (dash). If the ESP goes bad then it will not show it.
It is very simple procedure about replacing it. It DOES NOT need to be Coded. Some dealerships will say it needs to be VIN Coded but it DOES NOT. I called just for fun and the dealer quoted us $1000 for the part + tax and labor around $500-$1000. We purchased a used module for only $110 on eBay and it works great. We have driven it about 10,000 miles so far.
