I have an 08 w204 C180 Kompressor with the older style mirrors but they fold in automatically! How do I upgrade to automatic folding newer style mirrors and where to find them?
ok so ... for ppl who are looking to upgrade the side mirror assembly... your best bet is to find used on places like eBay.... or places that have similar models taken apart ... because you have fold in mirrors ...ensure u get ones with fold in mirror function as well
Hello buddy! I just mounted a facelift mirrors on my W204 and noticed that the foam on the new mirrors didn’t fit with the foam on the car! So I took off the foam from the mirror for good and left only the part on the car. Do you think is gonna be a problem? I mean waters enters anyway in the door when it rains because is never a perfect fit but it certainly has drain holes at the bottom!
@@MIKEYZVLOGZ yeah I plan to check back of the mirror by removing the tweeter and the foam behind it to see if the water is going in when I wash the car. This is my main concern tbh. Is kinda hard to find that foam where I live. They people in here are like “what? Get the whole door I’m not wasting my time selling you that foam for pennies!” They are interested in bigger amounts! I was wondering if I could use the facelift lights and hood. I already have the facelift front bumper. It fits like a glove. My car has the 950 AMG package (interior exterior) but I noticed I have the front bumper with the DLR led stripes and not the round fog lights. I’m very confused. They leds are connected to something but they don’t work and I’m getting the fog lights error all the time because my fog lights connectors are free in the bumper connected to nothing!
yes I do ... if u watch my cool features I show it clearly and I also have the auto dim for driver side .... I'm not sure if it requires the module on door .. I think it might so it can tell the mirror to face down etc
the im not sure ..but I have heard success stories where ppl retrofiit the folding mirrors..as long as u have the door module that allows the plug for folding mirrors im sure it will work.. also u mite need to activate them so the setting show up on your cluster .... and u will need to get a Window switch to support the function
no buddy ...pls do not be mistaken.... if u have older mirrors u need the entire assembly becuz the plug in is different... I never said in the video that u don't need the assembly ..I just stated that showing u how to remove the entire mirror will allow u to update your mirrors... meaning that u would have to replace the entire side mirror if u want facelifted side mirrors ..hope this clears it up for u mate...

Ok, for anyone wondering, you can NOT upgrade the pre-facelift mirrors to the new ones. The holes on the mirror are about 2 mm apart. Also the new mirrors are with 2 connectors and the old ones are with only 1 Edit: I was able to figure it out, it was the foam inserts that that were too big on the facelift model. If you take them off the mirrors and hold them towards the hole on the A pillar from outside the car you can see where it's too big. If you cut it off with an exacto knife it's really easy and effective. After that you can just line them up and secure with the bolts. Also note the facelift mirrors have a light on the bottom that lights up when you open the door, the white connector is responsible for that, if you don't mind that function you can just plug in the black connector to the module in the door and the turning signals work as they should.
really ?? thats good to know , did u try and upgrade?? did u try and change the entire side mirror assembly ??? where u unscrew the 3 bolts and the entire side mirror comes off??? just wandering ...
@@MIKEYZVLOGZ Yes, the whole assembly. I have a 08 model with the old mirror, with the one big triangular blinker and not the 2 lines, I got 2 mirrors from a facelift model and wanted to swap them out. Visually all looks the same but the differences are very small. There is a little bit of a curve to the new mirrors on the plastic piece that has the holes for the bolts, so you can't align it, it's very close but won't fit. The little black thing sticking out in the middle between the bolts also won't go into the guiding hole. I would have to drill new holes and that is too much of a haste. The cable on the new mirror has 2 connectors like you showed and the old ones have only one. So even if you fit the holes you will need a new door module that has 2 connectors, mine doesn't have the pins inside for the second connector of the mirror, you can clip it in but nothing happens. I think that connector is for the small light at the bottom of the mirror that lights up when you open the door, blinker managed to work when I connected it to the other port to test. Hope this helps. :)

@@MIKEYZVLOGZ It was really a much simpler issue than I thought... check out the edit I made to my original comment. Also, kept the same module in the door, the turning signal and mirror motors to adjust them work perfect just with the black connector plugged in.
when u install something that isn't factory fitted in order for the car to recognise it you need to use a star diagnostic or xentry DAS SYSTEM TO ACTIVATE it so the car can recognise the function
