@@laqueenawilliams4762 I did the job about a year ago, putting it back on was very tough and I think I stripped the bolts in the process. It was very tough but I got it done.
@@tonychavez2083 I’m glad you got it done. The cover had to come off by releasing the tap with a flat head but yes if you follow their instruction you’ll scratch your paint too.
sorry it took a while to get back i just had got a new scanner. the main problem before i can get to any other problems that have is fuse 30 in driver side sam (DATA LINK CONNECTOR) KEEPS BLOWING FUSES DO YOU HAVE AN IDEA WHATS BLOWING THE FUSES
i have a Question i have a W211 but Station Wagon My Driver side mirror is Really Purple, Cant Almost see anything, is there any fix possible ? Or it needs Replacement?
I'm trying to take the shell off a loose (not mounted on the car) 2004 E320 mirror to replace a deer damaged one on my 2004 E500. I can partially block open the hinged section with a piece of wood to about 45 degrees. But there seems to be part of the internal casting that blocks access to the spring clip. There's no way a flat screwdriver can get it to move down and become unclipped because the force of the spring that's pushing the clip back in position is so strong you can't get it to move or stay unclipped. Are you supposed to put the screwdriver in the slot? Because the casting seems to prevent that. Wish I could give you a picture.
I'm having the same issue I believe. I received the replacement but with the spring in the replacement, its nearly impossible to hinge open the replacement for access. Did you find a fix?
@@nicktrum9549 yes! You’re supposed to use a flat head to press down the tap inside then you can take off the shell, it’s the first thing to do! This will make the job much easier.
DO NOT Follow these instructions! It’s wrong! You first need to use a flat head to lower the tap inside to take off the shell first then you can unscrew the 3 bolts. What they did here is wrong, notice how they don’t show you how to screw the bolts back on because the spring makes it impossible. Here’s the link to untapped the shell off: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-H8-Q-FbwFSk.html
