Everything you need to know about how to remove the storage compartment console and repair the lid for the W212 models from 2009 - 2016 sedan and estate. This was done on a Mercedes-Benz E-Class W212 E350 2014 years.
Thanks for the video! Cleaned up the rails and slots with warm water and a toothbrush. Then tightened the wheels by two full rotations. Added some Super Lube Synthetic Multi-Purpose grease to the rails and it works perfectly now! EDIT: Also thank you so much for showing how to replace the light bulb on the 12V socket as I couldn't figure out how to swap it out!
Am picking up my 2012 e220 on Saturday and It has the same problem. I don’t think the seller will rectify this problem but thanks to this video I feel confident that I can tackle this job myself rather than putting it into a garage to get it done. Big thanks for including part numbers in case of breakages.
Thanks for posting this, picked up my 212 a week ago and everything works perfectly except for this cover, it doesn't slide back on its own at all. Now I know how to fix it!
Thanks to schemecity he sent message on Instagram about the interior bulb never really think about that before but check in our ride is usually broken.
Thanks for trying and to give us how to change/remove the console. If you can't do it, certainly I will not handle it. Solutions for me it is to pulverise with W40, opening and closing every and again. Waiting and after introducing a little dose of oil. Your situation, by seeing, the left wheel move more faster then the right one. Check that wheel, the mechanism inside, maybe just clean solve his dasy movement. I always use W40 and a few goticle of oil... I hope I can be helpful. If it not solved, let be open with your key inside, cigarettes or gums and some coins for coffee shops ...😁😆😉🤛🤝👍
I actually found another repair for this but still I don’t have make the video. Is to shorten the spring inside the wheels is works much better. Thanks for all tips I like the last one is pretty dope, because these are so common issue also 😅
@@MB212 yeap... in my hybrid s212 it's all that's item inside. Of course I'm not saying I don't want everything really nice like new, but the console had staying more then 80% opened since I bought the car. In another opportunity I will ask if you know something about problems I've seen by changing the back tyres factory measures to higher. I've filled a little gap in the fifht automatic gearbox (7G). Even in semi-automatic mode I've filled the gap. Now I have an extra of 2 tyres in my garden, a happy wife, and parsley, mint and others stuff. Well the best of this was the tyres will be paying someday. Tyre factory measures 265×35×18. The parsley tyre measures 265x40x18. Note: this my bad experience can be helpful.
Du er den bedste. Tak for du bruger ekstra tid og oplyser os part nr. på hver enkelt dele du arbejder med. Det er et kæmpe hjælp. W212 for ever.👏👏👏👏👏🤩🤩🙏👍💪
Hello mate, is there any chance to fix the glove box under the elbow , cause in my w212 one of the side opens but another at all I have to pull it up. Thanks for any answers 👍
Hi I don’t have any knowledge so far for that issue. But I guess if not repair it would be pretty easy to change it out for a used part and probably pretty cheap.
unfortunately the springs are not the complete fix here 😆 MB uses a light lubricant that evaporates, now there is too much internal friction. Lubricate the 2 wheels internal spring with a spray of *silicone* grease... 👍
@@MB212 MB has been perfecting this "sliding tray jam" for well over a decade!! Another example is the sunroof... when the special grease evaporates the friction is increased... extra slow!! Thank you for all your awesome videos 👏
The console door is supposed to stop at that point! If you use your ashtray and want to just cover your ashes, but have a drink in your holder, you don't want the door to close every time you pick up your cup! Duh didn't you stop and think "every one of them do this!"🤔, maybe there's a reason 🤯
