I was there in Eindhoven. Yeah, the crowd went totally insane. The music hypnotized and energized. One big (burning) hell of a party. King was also at full force, just like Michael Denner, Timmy Hanssen, Andy La Rocque and Mikkey Dee. Good old times...
One of the tightest metal performances I've seen in a LONG time! Fans going insane, being thrown off stage and the band pouring their heart into the music! CLASSIC
I was always kind of confused on why they changed the name of the band to "King Diamond". Their musical style didn't change and the only difference in the lineup was Sherman was replaced with LaRoque and Ruzz was replaced with Mickey Dee. There are bands out there who underwent far more extensive lineup changes who kept the name of the band.
@@spaceace4387 also the first king diamond album was going to be the follow up to don't break the oath I don't know who owns the name but maybe he just wanted to do something like Ozzy or Dio and have a band named after himself
@@GrayWoIf I can understand King wanting to put his own name out there but Ozzy and Dio were fired from Black Sabbath and Black Sabbath was still a thing when Ozzy and Dio had their solo careers, when King Diamond had his solo career there was no more Mercyful Fate, Mercyful Fate just turned into the King Diamond band.
@@spaceace4387 that's true...ill have to look into it because you're right it's virtually same band just like how in the 90s people got replaced but it was still "Mercyful Fate"
@@GrayWoIf Yeah for all of my intents and purposes I consider Mercyful Fate and King Diamond to be the same thing. On my itunes I labeled all of the Mercyful Fate tracks as "King Diamond" and I meshed them together on my CD tower so it goes in this order: The Beginning, Melissa, Don't Break The Oath, Fatal Portrait, Abigail, "Them", Conspiracy, The Eye, In Concert 1987: Abigail, Return Of The Vampire, In The Shadows, Time, The Spider's Lullaby, Into The Unknown, The Graveyard, Voodoo, Dead Again, 9, House Of God, Abigail II: The Revenge, The Puppet Master, Give Me Your Soul...Please
Awesome!! This shit is so original. These guys were indeed innovators of heavy metal and every one of it's sub-genres. I've never seen Mercyful Fate or "The King" live. I feel so deprived.
haha so funny when King was moving around with the doll and then he just kneed it. skinniest security guards i've ever seen; they were so weird how they came out like a flash and viciously threw people offstage. also, if you look close, you can see them lurking behind the speaker stacks, with their little arms and heads poking out from the side, spying on people lol
@furion111111 You think this is a song by Metallica? You have got be fucking joking...this is a classic Mercyful Fate song, of which three of them on playing it in this video.
Fuck those people. They have no buisness on the stage. To bad their wasn't a bouncer to chuck that piece of shit off the stage before he stabbed and killed Dimebag Darell. You never know someone's intent or if there crazy or not.
@@elculiaodelosjudaspriest Because I am a singer as well, and falsettos are much easier to do than James full voice screams (back when he was young) I just prefer James's voice I guess
