This kicks ass! Who would have thought MF and KD would be so successeful in the 2020s, 30 years ago? Also, who would have thought KD would sound like this so late in life!
Great footage - many thanks for making this available! I was in the pit close to center stage - extraordinary show and nice to relive! I saw them in Brooklyn last week as well - let's hope this is a new beginning for Mercyful Fate, with many tours to come...heavy metal doesn't get better than this!
@@zandig666 Well worth the drive to Philly for the second show after Brooklyn - in retrospect, wish I'd seen more of this tour and already looking forward to the next - King's voice is better than ever and his stage presence on this tour was epic!
Was right up on the barricade just to the right of Hank Sherman, Damn good show. Saw King Diamond twice but this was my first time seeing Mercyful Fate. LONG LIVE THE KING!
That's a favorite of mine as well! Compared to bands like Iron Maiden which cater to the obvious hits, I think it was more or less a flawless set list, but yes I would have loved to have heard Into the Coven!
Who ever thought back in high school we'd still be seeing King Diamond in 2022? Look around..all our bands still play. Lasted through pop, hip hop, boy bands, grunge and PREACHERS. Top it off that I'm still alive. We rocked back then. Love you all!!
I saw King Diamond at the House of Blues on Sunset Strip Hollywood CA. in 1998 during Voodoo tour then Mercyful Fate few months later same place during Dead Again tour. Small club too. Still get chills of thrills and horror. Fan since 1983. Love you all!!
Yes, fantastic set list - flawless I think, except for the absence of Into the Coven. But after numerous Iron Maiden tours with terrible set lists I can't complain - this one was near perfection
Saw King Diamond iat House of Blues in Hollywood Cali. Then two months later Mercyful Fate same place in 1998. Voodoo and Dead again tours. Still get chills!!
I would literally buy a CDr of this just to relive it time and time again! I was up on Tier 2R , good seats but didn't get to see it from this angle. Thanks for uploading! ‡★Hails★‡
I dunno if ya meant that jokingly or if your being serious , but either way, based on the lyrics of all the music he has written over the years , and on his whole on stage costume , and the whole satanic/ritualistic type vibe he's got going on , I would not at all be remotely surprised if he has and still is conjuring up the power of demonic entities to give him his musicial and stage talents and abilities as well as the overwhelming long term success of his bands ,which is on going still after over 40+ years. If fact id even go as far as to suggest that it's prob very likely that this is how he has gotten and kept his skills and abilities along with the fame and major success of the band , cause the power of the dark side is absolutely genuine and is very very real, not to mention how many famous people ,.especially R&B and Rap artists have we heard flat out admit on camera that they made a deal with the literal devil to get their fame and stage abilities , I dunno bout you , but I've seen video clips of a rather shocking amount of stars whove admitted to this on camera, and that said i would bet King Diamond is no exception. Hope he enjoys his time here on earth to the fullest though , because if he has made a theoretical deal with the devil , he surely will be regretting that very much so upon his passing , because there's no way you can make deals with entities and forces of the dark side , and still keep the rights to your soul upon your passing , cause you better believe those demonic/satanic entities are going to own your soul upon the death of anyone who has made such a deal with these kinds of entities and dark powers, so King better enjoy his time left here on earth , cause i surely wouldnt wanna be in his shoes upon his passing, when that demon comes calling and snatches his soul right up, no thanks lol. 👹
The perfect Mercyful Fate Set list Devil Eyes the Uninvited Guest Into the Coven Last Rites the Old Oak At the Sound of the Demon Bell the Banshee Lady in Black Gypsy Kthulu( Mad Arab 1 and 2 ) Nuns Have No Fun 9 Black Funeral Preacher Melissa Dangerous Meeting Come to the Sabbath
40 years ago I saw an ad in a Metal music magazine, back in Europe. An unknown danish band selling a cassette tape recording of one of their live shows. I took a chance and sent in a money order. The band was amazing and so was the concert. They had only released one vinyl EP at the time. I was one of the first people outside the metal-heads of Denmark to ever hear MF's music!
Mike Wead did a great job of interpreting Michael Denner's solos. He captures their essence, but puts his own spin on them. Favorite track: Satan's Fall
Yr work is second to none !..ultimately the best metal concert of the year! Haven't seen them since. Dec. 1984 opening for motorhead ...Tower theater..!
i got don't break the oath at a kmart in 84 or 85 - hard to believe that was 40 years ago. i still get goosebumps when they tear into it. sounds really good.
Becky did a terrific job. She also has a RU-vid channel where she's doing bass covers of classic metal songs. My guess is that's how she was discovered.
I saw them live on 5-Øren Park in Copenhagen in the late 90s: KD, Hank, Denner, Timi - but I simply can't remember if it was Mikkey on drums. That was one of the most magnificent heavy metal tour de force I've ever witnessed - and by the sound of this, they're still one of the most solid acts still in the game - would love to revisit that experience 🤟
Agreed the stage was a wee bit small for this grandiose production, but did King and the MF Crew just kill it live? Thanks for this amazing quality upload!!!
Real good but no Songs after the 2nd Album. Why? I know that Melissa and DBT Oath are their ultra classic Albums. And!!!... No disrespect to Mike Wead. No Michael Denner on 2nd Lead Guitar... No Real Mercyful Fate🙄🤨🤔😒😤. Sad enough that Timi Hansen is dead🙏And Kim Ruzz/Drums is still not to find/available?
