"Ach, long may your lum reek and may a mouse never leave your girnal with a teardrop in his eye. Haste ye back, wee lassie!" In more familiar terms: "Ach, long may your chimney smoke and may a mouse never leave your granary with a teardrop in his eye. Come back soon little girl!" Latin American Spanish: 4:20 "Agh que haya fuego en hogar y jamás ratón salga al granero con vientre vacío, ¡Sube al caballo, corre!" This is really bad spoken Spanish, but for the purpose it works well "Agh (I hope) that there's fire on you're house (Referring to a chimney) and that the mouse never goes out to the barn with an empty stomach, Get on the horse, run! (go)" As I said it doesn't make much sense but that's just what it is lol

That’s actually really close to the English version. [word sub] and (clarifier). “May your [chimney] reek (of smoke), and may a moose never leave your [cupboard] with a tear in his eye (due to it being barren of food). Haste ye back, wee lassie!” Same basic message. May your hearth ever be warm, and your cupboards never empty; Godspeed and come back soon, little missy!”

That is literally the most offensive way to go about it. It's like the dubbing crew is making fun of her for whatever reason. Merida is suppose to have HUMAN speech. Just make her coherent and have her say something funny if it's too much work to simply make her hard to understand. Literally no human understand that because it's pure gibberish. No language is that kind of ridiculous syllable soup.

Disney have used people to be copied for movement since the very first: Snow White in Snow White and the Seven Dwarves is 'rotoscoped' from film of a girl dancing, and the same dance is used in Robin Hood years later, as well as in another Disney film. Rotoscoping was an expensive process, replaced by 'motion capture' or 'Mo-Cap' now.

The Korean dubbing of the original movie, Brave, used the standard South Korean accent. Just for this sake, the Korean-speaking Merida sounds like a Scottish Highland woman trying to speak Korean by mimicking lines from K-dramas, but in a slang-ish poetic way. The lazy borderline accurate translation goes like this: "Did some mimicking of getting hit by a random arrow in an enchanted forest. If failed, just tell us, eh!"

Hindi was just being rude… she’s speaking gibberish while it’s also mocking South Indian languages like Tamil or Malayalam etc….. In India it’s more common for the north to make fun of the south over language and various other cultural differences. I’m literally both a north and south Indian 😅 In my opinion the voice actress who also voiced her in Brave could have spoken in Marathi as Brave was also dubbed in Marathi with the same actress voicing her. They could have had her say some type of Marathi poetic expression and it leaves the other characters confused.
