Inter caste marriage is one of the best way to finish casteism in India..&.. Reservation also ✅

I guess. But will it be adapted on a large scale? I know of a Marwari girl who married a Sindhi boy and her family kidnapped her and got her name changed and got her married to someone in another city a few years later - that's how sensitive they are to inter-caste marriages.

You're right about castism. While I disagree with some of your other videos, your point on castism resonates deeply with me. As a Sanatani Hindu, I strongly oppose castism. People who advocate for removing reservations often overlook the root cause: the caste system itself. If there were no caste system, there wouldn't be a need for caste-based reservations. It's baffling that some seemingly intellectual people who Claims that they have More knowledge then Reserved Category Students struggle to Understand this fundamental concept.

It is not an easy idea to accept, especially for people who have been raised to believe that they are genetically smarter. Enlightened view of the problem of caste and affirmative action. I am from SC community. My father has a government job and he provided well for his family. But I still had to face discrimination during my school time. I started hiding my identity during college. I was ignorant and whenever my father tried to convey to me the caste hierarchy I dismissed it and said we are equal and ‘I don’t know what are you talking about’. I learned about concepts of equality and societal setup after my college days. I am the first generation in family to even go to a college. There was social backwardness snd lack of social capital and it proved fatal for me.

Firstly let me get clear to you about this points…. 1) I grew up in delhi …being higher brahman (which I didn’t know by myself ) I studied until 10 my parents didn’t tell me about anything caste etc neither did my school told me except books (which introduced in briefs) all my friends whose caste I didn’t know sit together and eat neither anyone else ask…but then suddenly when I apply for a National level exam my friend (whose father is kv teacher…own 2 houses with 1 lakh per months salary my father works at a shop barely supporting) got cleared the exam I didn’t although he has far less marks…Suddenly I got to know about the caste thing what is reservation …before that things were just not infront of me …BUT NOW tell me even if I try to forget or decide to tell my children that no caste and all is there …how will you reply when they ask ki I am not discriminating anyone not anyone in my family is …then why should I compromise my marks why my talent for which I sacrificed a lot which someone other didn’t he rather enjoyes when I was studying but still he gets clg I didn’t …? 2) I once visited a aunt of mine saw a maid working there …I got there and just to let them know about benefits of reservation I asked what ur daughter do school etc for my surprise come she didn’t knew even a bit about reservation I told her everything about benefits scholarship etc etc then I asked her surname …for my surprise she is verma(brahman) …her husband deive E-rickshaw..she lives in slum nearby…has one son and one daughter…Pls tell me what GENERATIONAL PREVILAGE does she got that made her do housework and live in slum ..and to my surprise there in NO not even a single scholarship EVEN just one for financially supporting such poor families and TO MY SURPRISE SHE SAT BELOW RATHER THAN ON SOFA AS SHE SAID THESE ARE FOR RICH ..and SEE THE BRAHMAN POOR PREVILAGE COMES HERE …BULLSHIT …and I thankfully told her about Ews But wow there no concession in forms/scholarship for them to …and not this is the only case here ….once I saw my society watchman…he lives in single room house…his son could not do clg ge can’t pay now he works at electric shop repairing things barely earning…WHERE IS THE GENERATIONAL PREVILAGE …? 3) It been almost 40+ years in reservation…lets say a person took advantage and becomes an IAS …luckily he had made more than enough assets in one generation…his son drive cars …goes to best school …took NEET coaching paying (2.5 lakhs) didn’t clear the exam …took 2 more drops each year paying 1.5 lakh …still score 550 /720 in exam and got one of the best AIIMS …and a general student didn’t get any coaching..as can’t pay have siblings too …got 640 still cannot get the most worst clg and even quota can fetch the IAS son at 300 marks… Lastly even if we both got clg …studied the same books gave all same exams same opportunities (although he gets scholarships) then what is the need for reserved seats in master exams …?…OH SORRY according to you UPPER CASTE TEACHERS/STUDENTS must have bounded him in room snatching all the books or might ha would have standed outside the classroom …..ALTHOUGH he knows legal rights law protects him ….SC/ST prevention law…. So man please open ur eyes and see clearly what the both side story…..

I have just one sentence for you - the world does not start and end in your line of sight. Caste discrimination is very much alive, whether it happens in your circle or not. And only the so-called upper castes have the privilege of "not knowing" their caste. I have a new video in works to address this exact thing. Stay tuned for that. And I am not the one who needs to "open" his eye, you are. Why did a 'Brahman' doing domestic work surprise you? We do live in a capitalist country after all? Reservations is NOT about financial upliftment. It's sad that people like you keep making this same stupid argument.
@adarshmishra4043

@@TheIanPanda Yep so THE statement " the world does not start and end in your line of sight" applies to you too So don't cite your experience to show that DISCRIMATION is so much prevalent .You can't just ignore the cases I said they are not just one thing they are more than enough prevalent everywhere .... Nobody is saying caste discrimination isn't there but that doesn't mean THAT EACH and everyone faces it ...Nowdays due to techinical/edicational advancement thing has came under control not a lot but still considerable enough changed so should be the policies (SUPREME COURT ORDER is an example) . I do belong to a very native village in up so I can see the change even at lowest base . Secondly brahman working as domestic worker doesn't surprise me I gave that E.G about you criticizing a guy about GENERATIONAL PREVILAGE esp in terms of EDUCATION and FINANCIAL STABILITY ....WHAT surprises me is an IAS SON with much facilities and much opportunism gets to apply at half rate for a form and clg fees and gets a seat with such undeserving marks (320/720) while here she starves to pay the fees and yet her hardworking her daughter scoring (640/720) and SURPRISE she couldn't fetch a medical seat even in worst clg ..... Oh I didn't get it.... RESERVATION IN GOV. JOBS (even reservation in job promotions) which serve as an income to that individual doesn't provide financial upliftment ( as the money goes away in donation to orphan rather than buying land or accessories) the sole purpose of that job is that it serves as a mental purpose to others as serving dignity for that individual . THATS the moto of the reservation ...I beg to differ here...becoz reservation is killing talent and I can see ...And I know nothing is going to change ...AND to be clear its not like no genuine are benefitted by reservations...BUT whats happening now is those who are benefitted are continuously taking advantage and those who need it are lacking behind and they will...those bloody people will never let them come in upfront they oppress their own caste more than other caste do ...THANK YOU ...
@TheIanPanda
@TheIanPanda 3 дня назад
I am not gonna waste my breath on the same arguments by savarnas who can't stop feeling sorry for themselves after less than 80 years of some affirmative action for those who were oppressed for thousands of years. Even with caste atrocities being reported in the news every day, people like you argue that caste discrimination has decreased. Thanks to the law, it has just changed forms. Here's some quantification for you to mull over: About 41% of total wealth in India is owned by upper castes, who comprise only 18% of the Indian population. Brahmins who are 5% of the Indian population hold 34% Government jobs and the general category occupies 75.5% government jobs even after 50% reservations for SC, ST and OBC communities. SC and ST communities comprise about 25% of the Indian population but fail even to get represented in 15% of public institutions. So keep your Brahmin pity to yourself. You came across one poor Brahmin family and your bleeding heart just convinced itself that social capital and generational privilege does not exist. And the Supreme Court said "Marks are NOT merit". Look up that judgement and read it to understand what it means.

Didn't 5 % brahmins enjoy 100% reservation in priestly posts in temples of india? didn't 5 % kshatriyas enjoy 100% reservation in noble and key administrative posts of ancient kingdoms? didn't 5 % vaishya(baniya) enjoy 100% reservation in business sector ? didn't 15% savarn enjoy 100% reservation in gurukuls? didn't 15% savarn control 50% real estate of india not by merit but by feudalism and caste hierarchy? The Savarn castes (15%) have enjoyed almost 100% reservation in temples, nobility, administration, business sector and owned 50% land of india for the past 3000 years. Still they have a problem with sc st obc which are given 50% reservation in public sector institutions. Only 2% jobs and 6% educational institutions are in public sector. 98% jobs and 94% educational institutions in india don't offer reservation

When people like you are there the discrimination caused by caste will eventually get removed someday and hence the reservations wont be needed. Reservation opposing people wants to solve the caste discrimination problem by removing caste based reservation and bringing economic reservation. They think they will make people forget about their caste and hence no one will get discriminated. But reality is people wont forget about their origins as long as their religion, and motivation is linked to their caste. ex: 1. "I am gujarati I am great business man ", 2. " I am rajputs we are great warriors " 3. "We are singh we are "sher da puttar"" etc. Anhilation of caste is impossible. and even if castes are removed people will find some other ways to discriminate each other. So Caste cant be removed but the discrimination caused by caste can be removed. Upper caste people needs to remove that idelogies where inequalities are imposed. So basically "we are dalits we are most .........." This statement is still incomplete. But kisiko nicha dikhatye bina khud uchha kaise dikhnege??? So like to stop gender based discrimination we cant bring solution through which it will hide the person's gender instead we work towards the removal of discrimination on the basis of gender by providing representations. Social harrasment of people in colleges and govt jobs is not going to remove reservation but increase caste discrimination.

Because, for the nth time, reservation is for representation, not for monetary upliftment. Rich or poor, a dalit will still face discrimination at work, temples or in general interaction with people. You are definitely not rich but you won't be barred from places or face caste discrimination like dalits or lower caste people will. If people can wash temples to purify after a well known leader like Akhilesh Yadav visits it, imagine the discrimination faced by common people who are lower or out castes.

@@samarthbihade8306 Bro, let’s cut the crap about “nirdosh bachha” and your melodrama of “kamar tod kar nikaala gaya” - you’re not the victim here. It’s not robbery when you’ve been handed the world on a silver plate just because of your caste. The reality is you’ve already inherited the fruits of privilege without ever needing to prove yourself. You talk about hard work as if you’ve been denied something that you deserve. But let’s be real, your entire system of advantage is based on centuries of “bhiksha”-getting an easy ride in life because you were born into the right caste, not because you earned anything with “imaandaari.” So before you start throwing around words like ‘unfair advantage,’ take a good hard look in the mirror. Generations before you oppressed, exploited, and deprived entire communities, and now you have the audacity to cry foul when that injustice is finally being corrected? You call it "robbery," but if anyone’s been robbed for generations, it’s people from backward communities. You’ve got wealth, influence, connections-everything stacked in your favor. What did we get? Centuries of oppression, no land, no voice, no dignity, and even now, we still have to fight for basic respect. You think reservation is bhiksha? Then go ahead and give up your caste privileges. Let’s see you compete fairly without your connections, without your privileged network. We’ll see how “imaandaari se jeet kar lena” goes for you when you’re no longer cushioned by your caste. Stop acting like some innocent victim in this-you’re not oppressed, you’re just uncomfortable because the system is starting to level the playing field. The world’s not gonna keep revolving around your entitled self just because you feel like your undeserved dominance is slipping. So yeah, cry me a river about your so-called ‘hardworking child’. The real hardworking people are those who’ve had to fight against the weight of discrimination, while you’ve been handed a head start in every possible way. It’s about time you realize that reservation isn’t stealing anything from you-it’s giving people like us what was denied to us for centuries. and if he is so so so talented then he can get sucess in any private platform i mean why only cry for those 2 percent gov jobs why so much for crying didn't 5 % brahmins enjoy 100% reservation in priestly posts in temples of india? didn't 5 % kshatriyas enjoy 100% reservation in noble and key administrative posts of ancient kingdoms? didn't 5 % vaishya(baniya) enjoy 100% reservation in business sector ? didn't 15% savarn enjoy 100% reservation in gurukuls? didn't 15% savarn control 50% real estate of india not by merit but by feudalism and caste hierarchy? The Savarn castes (15%) have enjoyed almost 100% reservation in temples, nobility, administration, business sector and owned 50% land of india for the past 3000 years. Still they have a problem with sc st obc which are given 50% reservation in public sector institutions. Only 2% jobs and 6% educational institutions are in public sector. 98% jobs and 94% educational institutions in india don't offer reservation

Then i have to Clear NEET PG where the reservation are even more ridiculous. Now ..My ST caste friend Who comes To the same coaching as i do in a Mercedes Benz Gets taught by the same teachers moreover he enjoys his life way more than I could ever imagine.He will get A seat in the top state govt college in just 50% of the total marks and Qualify NEET PG as well With the reservation. Now..will he be more capable of treating the patients than me or any other unreserved category guy?? absolutely not.The suprising part is he is not the only one ..there are thousands of kids like him all around the country. Why do you think india's health System so bad? why do you think Hundreds commit suicide Every year?? And Reservation creates even more hatred and Prejudice towards The Backward castes Meritocracy is dead in india thats why so many people leaving this country . I have answered these questions in other videos. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uVS07Zvi8zE.htmlsi=dpwdSTonHgT8WttE Savarnas keep crying about "that rich SC guy" while conveniently ignoring that they are still discriminating against that guy. Also, the atrocities against Dalits isn't a thing of the past, like so many of you say. Even today, you hear names like Kujur, Kerketa, Bara, etc and you treat the people differently. Is that because of reservations? No. It's because a savarna is hardwired to discriminate. You might not. But a whole lot of people do. The problem is that you think, the playing field is the same, while you don't understand how discrimination affects someone's ability to score in exams. The problem is that you think that if there were no reservations, the hiring and selection would be fair to the "backward castes" and wouldn't discriminate based on their thousand year old biases.

I would say there is a huge intersection between financially poor demographic and the lower caste. If reservation was given to economically weaker sections, the lower castes will definitely benefit. This will also be a step in the right direction in terms of the mental state of these students. The reason they will get in will not be their caste, but their poor economic condition. Reservation on basis of caste will just reinforce their caste identity and make the caste boundaries between castes more tangible. As long as caste based reservation continues, the potential for further caste based discrimination increases and will effect the mental state of lower caste students even after joining any educational institution. Im making this comment in good faith. The more we make caste the centre of conversation, the more the caste boundaries widen.

Has caste discrimination stopped? Take away caste reservations today and the few people who get through will also be edged out by the upper castes and their well established social circle. I guess you missed the point I was trying to make. You are making your statement from your perspective - you and I might not discriminate, but most people do. And they don't even do it out of malice, but rather subconscious bias. Read up, buddy. What you're suggesting is NOT the solution.

@Ian Panda great pointers of presented do indeed paint the intended perspective for the reserved classes , where i come to disagree are two points ( with perhaps a lot of caveats) are the due to the following 1) There is the reserved creamy layer which takes advantage of the reservations and those who are in need are still left due to the presented hurdles due discrimination . 2) The no. of admissions within these reservations go unfilled 3) The upper class all may or may not get the education background benefit and very large array of them are so well to do . there is more to the picture(this would be a long one sorry ) there is the ews class reservation instead which may get improvements with authentication but that is for us to wait and see. As far as class discrimination go i haven't got much and didn't see any even in adults . the news is there and i know we are far from done but i do know how it feels to not be accepted , to feel not having much. But i am certain of one thing , the current ecosystem of education is very predatory of parents and students at the middle and lower level and those who clearly benefit from it due benefits of exclusivity . i am quite for reservations but much more so would like to see it perform its purpose better . A greater solution but a lengthy one at that is to see developments for higher education careers in fine arts and digital content creation to ease out burden . thankyou for this long passage XD , i am sure i have made many mistakes while writing and would love to hear them from you .

Okay, let me try to answer this in a short way. Reservations are not meant to financially uplift the "backward" castes or change the casteist mindset of people. Reservations are supposed to help these people get representation in education and employment - representation was denied to them for generations. The purpose is so that they are present in all positions so that they can build enough social capital for the castes that are discriminated against - so as to counter the effect of discrimination in hiring and education. This whole creamy layer argument is stupid and comes from a place where people don't understand what I said in the above paragraph. Even Dalit IAS officers are still called Dalit behind their backs - people very casually refer to their castes. Their children might have privilege but they are still discriminated against in the society - may not be overtly but it is still there. That's why the reservations are needed because these biases can often stop people from hiring them. And the evidence for that, you only said that positions go unfilled. Nearly 70% of the population are "backward" castes. You really believe none of them deserve the seats/jobs that go unfilled? And as for the unfortunate people who aren't able to get the benefit of reservations, surely reforms to ensure better reach can be made. But this creamy layer segregation is not the solution. Because caste reservations is not about financial upliftment. Lastly, you didn't see caste discrimination because it never happens to YOU. Just like it has never happened to me. But if you pay attention, you'll see it's all around you. People might be subtle about it, but they are still pretty casteist.

In india there are not less than a million surnames, how is it possible to identify someones caste and category to discriminate? Also what exactly caste is... There are 4 varnas we all knew which classify people based on their occupation... So what exactly caste is? Even numerous of terms like - sindhi, marwari etc are geographical, many are occupational like jat, many have their father name as surname, many with their ancestors, many have their village name as surname.. so again what is caste? Is the discrimination really bcz or caste or bcz or income disparity, racism and different living standard. Think about

Another savarna who dismisses the idea of caste. How many marwaris marry people other than marwaris? I knew a Marwari girl who married a Sindhi and her family kidnapped her and got her name changed and married somewhere else. No, it is not because of income disparity. And if varna wasn't birth based, then who is giving the Dalits who are educated now and are teachers the caste identity of a Brahmin. Where is this governing body who determined caste migration based on occupation. Stop burying your head in the sand and looking at things from your individual and limited perspective. Caste very much exists. I have shared a story on IG, where in a village in MP, a man is thrashing Dalit children with a stick for drinking from the community well. Are you telling me that you will treat a person poorer than you like that? So, you think about it.

You are arguing that upper castes have generational privilege, mentioning that your great-grandfather was a school headmaster, and you assume that all upper castes had this generational privilege. However, this category of generational privilege represents a very small minority among UCs(mainly Brahmins). In fact, even many Brahmins who adhered to their traditional ritualistic roles remained uneducated and, as a result, poor. The same applies to land-owning castes like Marathas, who hardly had access to education. In terms of educational privilege, they were often in a similar position to Dalits. Some people might argue that land owning caste had economic privilege, but this can also be challenged, considering that the average income of farmers in India is around ₹10,000 per month. Thus, the reality is that most people in India, including the so-called upper castes, have not experienced generational educational or economic privilege. In summary, while those who had generational privilege were all were upper castes, not all upper castes (in fact, the majority) had this privilege. Reservation, in essence, is merely shifting a very small percentage of lower caste individuals into the privileged category, and that’s it. It hardly addresses the core issue of casteism. Casteism isn’t just about Dalits and Adivasis; in my village, for instance, there are Yadavs and Gauds, both considered equal in the social hierarchy. However, Yadavs are a minority (7 families out of around 100 Gauds), and the Gauds discriminate against them. Casteism is a deeply ingrained social issue rooted in people's long-held beliefs and perceptions. It can only be effectively tackled through intercaste marriages and by urbanizing the population as much as possible.

The above paragraph is taken from this article: www.youthkiawaaz.com/2022/08/reservations-arent-enough-we-need-a-change-of-sectors/ Read it - it blows a hole in your idea that upper caste people do not have privilege. Your idea of privilege itself is skewed because you don't know the kind of lack of privilege experienced by the so called lower castes. Generational privilege is not just about headmaster jobs, it is also about owning land, or having educated relatives. Reservations are not a solution to casteism, but rather a way for people to get representation in spite of the effects of casteism.

@@TheIanPanda I think you missed my point, I have problem with you like people that you put all UCs in the same bracket.There is drastic class divide present in UCs like in other communities. There is hardly any realation between rich Ucs with poor UCs other than this sahab- naukar relation. You live completely isolated from poor UCs. In UCs also we have pyramid like structure. Majority of them are at bottom. While top at the pyramid enjoy this privilege and grab all the key positions in government, media, business. Like your family, which is enjoying this privilege. See bhai, the artical that you shared says that 41 percent of property is owned by 18 percent UC. This property is not uniformly distributed among UCs. It will definitely have pyramid like structure where majority of these 18 percent will have very minimal share. Deccan herald report says that 40 percent property is owned by 1 percent, See means 17 percent UCs have just just 1 percent share then. The thing with you guys that UC people that you see in media, films, business, high government officers are coming from these 1 percent (like your family). Then you will say look all UCs are so privileged. Because you are seeing only 1 percent. Remaining 17 percent are invisible to you. So please do not include us (17 ℅) in your argument that UCs had privilege Say we are the minority among UCs(1℅) who have this privilege. Lovely. But just one question. If you want the best outcome quoting the supreme court here that marks are not merit, what would it really take for this country to produce the best scientists, doctors, vets, economists, engineers, teachers? Shouldn't there be a system or some guideline which actually measures skill and expertise? I have scrutinized and sorted several post graduate students when i worked as a guest lecturer in physics and I absolutely second that marks are not merit. If I may add, at least in Karnataka rote learning is THE way and for obvious reasons upper caste candidates have been brow beaten into memorizing and more generally I find that girls definitely show a higher photographic memory. When the real test of understanding the subject or the test for akill arises the outcome is quite shocking and shaking

You are 100 percent correct..i agree with everything you mentioned in your video..but i do have a different take here. Reservation is not the answer...it is just a lazy mans quick fix. As you rightfully stated in the video depressed classes are suffering from social inequality. This has caused a lot of insecurity in their minds and loss of confidence..to put it in simpler terms upper castes dont respect depressed classes. They simply look down on them...i believe reservation is enabling this in our modern society. What i mean is that...in order to force someone to respect you...the only way is to beat them in their own game. History has taught us that weak are never respected...the depressed classes need to get stronger...and for that reservation is not the only answer. Because you are still at the mercy of the strong. Ill give you an example...now think of a guy coming from poorest section of depressed classes who is suffering from lots of social disabilities placed on him...yet despite all that he stood up against all the oppression and competed on equal footing and became one of the best in a particular field...now in that situation people are forced to respect him. Even if they don't it doesn't matter cause he is above them. Best example of this is... ambedkar he literally forced people to acknowledge him. Reservation in jobs mainly is actually not letting depressed sections reach thier true potential because their career exploration is being narrowed and only focussed on getting a government job...i mean reservation is incentivising it. But it is inhibiting their innovation and imagination. By giving reservations in the form it is given today...it is just indirectly saying you are not capable to reach a particular target so we are giving you a smaller target...now doesn't that effect a persons psyche?...this surely breed insecurity among people... instead we need a model of reservation which screams to people " you are nothing less than perfect"..."you are quite as capable as them". A model which raises the confidence of people. Gives them enough support so that they can take up challanges head on.

Your whole take ignores the idea of social capital and the effect discrimination has over psychology and academic performance. It also ignores the basics of the caste system. If you take away the reservations, the upper castes will quickly edge out the backward castes from jobs and education. "Beat them at their own game"? How? Ambedkar was an exception. There sure will be some stories like that - but most people will still stay marginalized. Reservations have been given to give them representation - in a system which would otherwise won't. The playing field has never been equal. And it never will - not until representation has been given for generations, so that the backward castes also have enough social capital that they can compete with the forward castes properly.

@@TheIanPanda I am saying reservation in current form is kind of regressive...i don't think it is effectively increasing the social capital formation to expected levels. Even within marginalised classes there is a lot of divide. The benefit of the reservation has not been uniform. This is breeding inequality even among depressed classes. What good is reservation in higher education and jobs when people are not even having proper amenities in their initial stages i.e primary education, nutrition, health( physical and mental wellbeing) , housing. It is like saying to someone " yes you have the worst life with no basic necessities....and yes you also have a low social status....so inorder to compensate for that we will just reduce qualifying marks and criteria nothing more. You should be content with this... nothing much will be done to get to the root of the problem and do something about it. This current form of reservation is enabling economic mobility but not social mobility. I don't think the former will necessarily translate to the later. But i believe within the next 2 generations we will not be having any kind of caste disabilities being imposed on people. I can clearly see change for good... except for marriage people aren't really caring for caste at least in urban areas...i believe this will slowly translate to rural areas too. Older generation who are rigid in their thoughts will die off...soon. Btw i am writing this with an open mind....i am happy to have a look at your take on it.

I somewhat agree to your arguments, but i still feel the "Reservations" give unfair advantage to few undeserving candidates over a lot of deserving ones. I myself belonged to an OBC however I started using using General Category starting XII class boards. Coming from a humble farmer family my father managed to complete a diploma back in his days got a government job (after a lot struggle, back then as well). This gave us siblings opportunities for better education and interaction with wider range of society. I never felt any oppression by my peers or their families. I have friends with diverse social and economical backgrounds, be it Bramhins, Baniyas, Kshatriyas, Muslims, Gond (native Tribal of MP), or SC (dont want to mention the surnames).I agree that their thought process are affected in general towards cast system that existed. But as an individual i dont remember it affected our equations. I was welcomed in their homes with equal warmth and vice versa. Now to give another perspective my uncle , although coming from the same background and conditions as my father, did not study and remained a farmer. And then failed to provide the same upbringing to their kids, and I can see the difference in social and economical difference between us. In short, they are not doing well. I have few more such examples among my friends, some were good in studies (doesn't matter if they came from higher class or lower in terms of cast or financial status) are doing better then me (since i was just an average student) in private sectors . But few who had reservations are doing good despite lacking the aptitude (obviously in government sectors). They got the edge over those few who had the aptitude and aspire to be in govt sectors but did not have the reservation on their side. A very good and dear friend of mine, who had both of his parents working in Schools as Headmaster and Sr teacher, and having an NT reservation to his side, is still struggling with his life since he too lack the aptitude and aspirations for higher studies. He got the seat in a very prestigious engineering institute, but did not complete the engineering, where as a lot of other who were definitely more deserving then him could not clear the cutoff. And that I think is unfair. I understand that there may be still social discrimination exists in parts of the country, however to which degree that I leave up to everyone discretion. Also I would bring the point where the individuals who have successfully taken the advantage of servations for betterment of their social and economical conditions, should then give up that status for their future generations, so that they could compete with others as equals. And other deserving person who does not have the same resources xan take the advantage to bring themselves up the social ladder.

The problem here is, when seats are reserved in educational institutions, the people who are most likely to get it, in any category ,are rich urban upper middle class students, who have never faced discrimination. I am from general category and my counterparts from SC/ST categories are much wealthier than me and live in major cities, and hence have no clue that caste system exists. They also get fee waivers while my less wealthy friends in the gen category have to pay up the entire fee amount. In short the problem is that the people who benefited two generations ago and lifted their families out of casteism are still the ones benefitting. The people who are opressed continue to be opressed making reservation useless. There can be financial restrictions on reservation or also generational restrictions. As a bhramin from Bengaluru I am sure that there is no casteism practiced in cities since at least 2 generations.

@Leo-hd5dz 2 месяца назад
@@TheIanPanda Sir, I mentioned it to show you the other side of the coin. The Communal Award would have created a rift in Indian society, which is why we opted for the Poona Pact. Similarly, current reservations are causing divisions in Indian society. Individuals who have gained generational benefits from reservation continue to take advantage of them. When will this stop? Initially, reservations were caste-based, then gender-based, and now they are for financially disadvantaged people. Next, Agniveer is in line. There is no end to this , only political parties are getting benefits not the people.
@TheIanPanda
@TheIanPanda 2 месяца назад
Leo-hd5dz - I only talk about caste based reservations. EWS quota and Women's Quota are a different topic. There's a basic confusion about caste based reservations. It has no bearing over the people's financial condition. Isn't it true that they are still called Dalits even if they are IAS officers? So, clearly, reservations is not "solving" the caste divide. What it is actually supposed to do, is give them enough representation in mainstream society, that they build social capital over a period of time. This representation is not a charity that savarnas are doing - but their right which was withheld from them for hundreds of years. If the playing field had been the same, then their representation would be similar to their population ratio, but that's not the case now, is it? And it's not creating any conflict - the problem is with savarnas who think reservations are their rightful seats being "given away" - this is why they try to use all this creamy layer logic to argue against reservations.
@Leo-hd5dz
@Leo-hd5dz 2 месяца назад
@@TheIanPanda At least you acknowledged that reservation is not solving the divide. First, regarding the creamy layer, it is there and it exists, you just don’t want to see it. I haven’t seen a single story about someone publicly denouncing reservation benefits after they have already taken advantage of them. Suppose a Dalit IAS officer's child attends the best schools. Trust me, he won’t face any discrimination because his father is an IAS officer, and kids don’t care about caste and all that nonsense. But then, when CBSE asks him to fill out his board exam form and he mentions that he belongs to a certain caste and wants to avail himself of benefits, from that day on, his discrimination would start. This will become more pronounced after he and his friends appear for competitive exams. So, his discrimination was not because of his caste but because of the reservations he took. That’s why in IITs, it seems there is discrimination, but in reality, the reason is that a super-rich kid with half the merit is getting admission. The same goes for IIMs and medical institutes. That’s the reason for discrimination and that’s where creamy layer should come in the picture

The reservation excludes Brahmins in areas in which they are under-represented such as education and employment. Brahmins oppose reservation to achieve goals such as bridging inequalities in employment and pay, increasing access to education, and redressing existing injustices, prejudices or obstacles against Brahmins. The reservation purely targets the Brahmins by discouraging them for increased participation. Brahmin drawback is the societal drawback that disadvantages Brahmin people over non-Brahmin people in societies, if they are under the same social, political, or economic circumstances. Current innocent Brahmin people must not bear a collective responsibility for the harm which had resulted from historical casteist treatment of people belonging to other groups. Discrimination against any individual on the basis of their Brahmin origin is unjustified. Reservation is discriminatory, discarded meritocracy and is driven by lower caste vote-bank politics.

You completely missed the point. The general category holds approximately 15% of the population. However, most government jobs are occupied by individuals from the general caste. Additionally, a significant number of high-ranking positions are allotted to higher castes. You can easily find the statistics by searching online. Displaying caste names on vehicles is something typically imposed by the upper castes. It’s not valid to say, "I am a proud Brahmin, and my friend is a proud Chamar, but he still can’t match my level because I am superior by birth." Understand that the upper castes have exploited oppressed communities for thousands of years. You can’t claim that 78 years is enough time for them to catch up. Education is still relatively new for the oppressed classes, and it's only the second generation that is getting the opportunity to attend school.

Look at it this way - even now, the unreserved seats are way more in percentage than the general category in population. So how is it unfair? It is like your competition is only with other general category students for those seats. (If seats were not reserved, I'd get it - is a wrong argument. I've explained why in this video.)

rajkumarvishwakarma478 - Marks are not merit. Watch the point made by the Supreme Court, before deciding that your quip was very smart. It is a difficult concept to grasp for the upper castes who fail to recognise their privilege. If these people were even remotely equally represented, then there would be no need to make provisions to increase their representation. Anyway, tu rehne de. Tu troll kar aur nikal - tere samajh mein nahi aayega.

hinduism was never about caste system. varna changes according to occupation but unfortunatly it was evolved into caste at the time of british. sanatan is about:--- "karma:-- sum of good and bad things" it's about :-- worshiping everything and everyone like air, mountain , people as god is in everything. it's about :--- believing in reincarnation:--- we believe our good karma would give us good next life. it's about :-- moksha :-- to connect to divinity within oneself. It's about freedom to worship or not worship a god but still be a hindu if you believe above things. And yeah in descrimination become less and less after 2010. and it is all time low after hindutva movement in recent time.

It is all right that they have reservations in upper level of jobs Scale A or scale B ..to uplift there people...but why in scale c and scale D jobs..does it is going to make any difference..This will not change there status..they will be still stuck them on that status .and reservation in higher level of job give them representation of there society so they could get there view in making policy..........and what about reservation on panchayat elections it kills democracy.... What about reservation on medical exam..it should be based on merit .so that we can get best doctor.... What about reservation crossings 80 percent in bihar based on census..it creates a think of increasing population.. You tell about genetic advantage..what about those who are from upper caste but weak in studies... Your mindset is different from your grand mother it means you are experiencing high competition because there generation does discrimination...but you didn't does this can reduce reservation in future with your grand children..... Trust me sir you can't answer any of them but you can only try....

I don't need to answer any of your questions, because you didn't understand the point of this video at all. You're still approaching reservations as if it is your rightful seats taken away and given to others. Watch the video again, try to understand it beyond your biases - read what the Supreme Court said, try to understand it and then pose these questions. My video itself is the answer to your questions, you just didn't understand it.

Good thing reservations are helping end caste identities and all the caste based discrimination has ended :) Oh wait
@TheIanPanda
@TheIanPanda 2 месяца назад
Typical savarna misunderstanding. Reservations are not supposed to end caste identities - they are supposed to increase representation of the folks who would otherwise be kept away through the systematic discrimination of caste. The increase in representation is meant to help them gather the social capital that savarnas have - so that one day, they have enough social capital to nullify the effects of the caste discrimination.

@TheIanPanda this is shifting goal posts at this point. Many of us have good real life examples of how Reservations are now actually being used and utilized by privileged individuals, I myself came across one of my classmates during masters who had more generational wealth than boht my father's and mother's family combined who used Reservations.... that was the point I got disillusioned regarding this system. This and the way it's being used as political tool.... even privileged castes like jatts, patels are asking for Reservations....? If merit won't be respected in this country the best minds won't want to stay in this country..... We don't feel this system is just.... no matter how you twist words or arguments in its favour..... a couple years back you would have found me defending Reservations with similar arguments you mentioned....but I have seen enough to know this system is flawed And to add another point.... the young generation who has grown up without experienced caste discrimination not at home or in schools when they reach college and find folks who get their scoring significantly less marks.... this then turns into another kind of discrimination and bias which just defeats the purpose of harmony I am very sure there are other better ways to get affirmative action implemented. But Reservations is just a curse

@praneet2468 It's laughable when people quote their individual experience to make a case. You know the world doesn't all exist in your line of sight, right? You having seen something doesn't make it the absolute truth all across the board. Watch the full video, read what the apex court has said about "merit". Also, I'm sure some privileged folks might be getting reservations, but the fact is that even they face discrimination. Wealth has got nothing to do with it - and this I can tell you from my personal experience.

@TheIanPanda I'm not sure it would be that laughable for a family that is struggling to get ends meet and is in dept just to support their livelihood. Further , I don't think I have come across a person from a historically oppressed caste who does face such issues get the proper affirmative action in education or govt job. And the thing that is actually laughable is the politicization of caste and reservations. I can understand the representing of communities in administrative and managerial posts in govt institutions. But in medical colleges?! In scientific institutions..... does it make any sense? That to talking of increasing the cap.... having it in private sector.... The most laughable thing about this argument is, folks thinking more than 40% reservations in any sector is a just thing to do..... even EWS reservations are being used by people who are not actually "economically backwards" By the way this is my individual experience, and just like me there are millions of individuals in india. We are still thriving.... what else do we have, we don't have generational wealth like many "underprivileged and discriminated" castes do..... so we do our best to survive until the politicians take that away from us too.... Any way you put it or however you mock people, one can not justify a system that is so flawed that it can't even do what it was meant to achieve.....

@ujjwalchhatrapal6862 - Kudos. Anyone acknowledging caste in today's day and time is an accessory to discrimination. Interestingly, my grandfather used to say - "The top posts are always vacant!"
