I bought exactly the same watch in the AliExpress sale, it was just under £94 delivered (tax paid). I was really impressed with the quality, it looks fantastic and the movement was running nicely when I checked it on a timegrapher 👍 . I like that style case, and the Seizenn is a better width at 38mm unlike the 36mm CWC and Hamilton (£350 and £500 more expensive ) and it is much slimmer than the 36mm Baltany automatic. At the price, I am happy with mineral crystal, thanks for a good review.
Yeah I love the case shape. Is the tip of second hand actually bent? I thought it was just the distortion from the crystal that made it look like it was.
I must say I love Merkur watches and these military style watches Definitely have a place in my collection I also like the case back that can be personalized is always a bonus when gifting these watches Thanks again for your honest opinions that are greatly appreciated my friend 👍
A no nonsense watch, for a no nonsense channel 😉 Merkur always come out with Interesting pieces I think. They don't do the usual homages. They tend to go more vintage.
Cool little homage, I really dig this watch. It is found wanting in a few areas, but the look and size would make up the gaps. If you would, down the road could you do a video on the Fanzi movement and how it performed and how you liked it?
@@HonestWatchReviewsHWR yes, I’ve seen most of your reviews, I rather fancy the “Dirty Dozen” but my old eyes struggle these days with less than 40mm dials. They do have some really cool looking new larger watches, so I won’t jump in right now. Thanks for the reply 👍🏼
Love it, I've had my eye on this one for a while. Can't decide on the dial though, mineral crystal is unfortunate but not necessarily a deal breaker for me. I do think it needs to be priced a bit lower because of the movement. How does the winding feel? Do you have to pull the crown to do so? Nice review as always!
No, you don't have to pull the crown out to wind it. The winding feels alright, it's not gritty or anything. I'm glad you liked the review. Thanks for watching.
Like it a lot, for quite some time on AE now, but I guess under another brand name. Was tempted at the time but finally want for something else. Sapphire should be provided on it I think.
I’m likely this watch, it’s a nice more affordable alternative to the Hamilton. As for the crystal, I would prefer acrylic to mineral on these vintage style field watches.
For me this is a truly frustrating watch. It's so beautifully designed, slim, proportioned and just delicious. It's way nicer looking than most other watches of that kind. But the mineral crystal kills the deal for me sadly.
im toasting between this and Baltany W10, i like the brand name of Baltany and nh38 movement but the case size on Baltany look thicker. Merkur seem stay close to Hamilton case size.
Really like the side of the case, shaped curved both directions, plus it's polished but works. As for the lume problem, it's so classic, especially on chinese watches, we all love to hate that! 😋😂 Cheers james, be well mate. PS What a bloody price! Thanks, but no thanks! PS2 That "peace" dial... cm'on! really??... but cm'on too! Would love to see it on a watch.
@@andre.bouchard Sorry I don't think I was very clear then. I meant what about the other dial and case shape options... Do you like any of them? Seizenn is just a subrand of Merkur.
@@the_once-and-future_king. Oh ok. I'm sorry for laughing. I thought you were being sarcastic. For us Brits that's the default setting 😉 Thanks for the information mate 👍
From my understanding Seizenn is Japanese and roughly translates to "before life". At least they went with an Asian name and not a made up Western one.
I definitely would prefer sapphire too, but I don't think it's a deal breaker. As for the price, I think it works out to about €150 after using the coupons. But you might be able to get that lower still if you have any coins to use as well. Obviously it still won't be near €80 though.
Mechanical only movements don't have screw down crowns as a rule. Simple reason. you wind the watch fully then screw down the crown.......... OOPS!! Make a date with your watchmaker to repair the broken main spring. This is avoidable but not idiot proof hence push pull crowns only.
@HonestWatchReviewsHWR have you tried back hacking the movement when the power reserved is low? I really like this watch and watching reviews of it, but no mention of back hacking.
Don’t buy this watch or even from this company. Me and my friends order a watch each I got this one and they got 3 other models. One did not work at al. Another one was faulty every time you pressed the crown in to set the time the hand jumped like 5 minutes on my model the crown and stem just came out from the watch the 3rd time I was gonna set the time They never responded to me. My friends got a respond one of them after like a month asking them to send I video they did and got ignored after like 8 emails and another month they wanted him to send the watch to China for repair and wanted him to pay for shipping and repair cost and after asking for a refund they said he should send the watch back then he will get it. After he sent the watch back they told him no refund since it was worn even though it arrived not working in the same place. Shit company don’t buy from them or any their brand they own they own like 8 brands
I'm really sorry to hear the issues that you and your friends had. Did you use the AliExpress dispute system or just contact the seller directly? As it's always best to use the AliExpress dispute system. On the rare occasions when I've had to use it, it's been very simply and efficiently sorted out with free return shipping and full or partial refunds if keeping the item.
@@HonestWatchReviewsHWR we ordered directly from merkur website ironically hoping in doing so we could hold merkur accountable directly if something went wrong and gett better help and after digging in forums of people that owned wat he's from them it's like 90 % don't last more than a few months especially the chronograph models. A real shame I really liked this watch and even took it to different watch makers and they cant fix it beacuse there are no parts avaliable I even went so for to ask merkur for the parts needed like a new crown and stem but no response the watchmakers recommended me not to fix it since it was put together pretty badly as a whole
