Jason Unwin Unfortunately its not the same as it was back then. Cuts followed my more cuts are pushing the RN to its limits, we take any small success we can get. Funnily enough, the RAF had an aircraft called the Nimrod, which was being upgraded, it was our maritime reconnaissance aircraft, hunting subs in other words, it was scrapped in 2010 despite it being 3/4 of the way done, now we have issues like this russian sub playing hide and seek and no aircraft to help us seek! So hopefully, the RAF will soon be getting the American P-8 Poseidon, I hope you both enjoyed the British Armed Forces, its always really good to see how other nations work

I thought the Nimrod was an excellent aircraft. As Benjamin Franklin said, one of those American "rebels" said, " Don't be penny wise and Pound foolish." Maybe the RN can get some used P-3 Orions. :-)

@@GGG19872 you don't understand that the enemies won't just fire a single missile at a carrier. It will be a saturation attack against all the ships in the task force.
