The fairy tale you thought you knew gets a whole new twist in this anything-goes, no-holds-barred spectacular of silliness. When a beautiful but naive mermaid princess decides she wants to woo a pirate prince, she trades her voice for a pair of legs and a chance to make her way up on land. You've heard it all before, right... But not like this.
"Mermaid!" is a lovably low-budget, campy but affectionate sendup of not only the classic "Little Mermaid" fairy tale, but of the "Disney musical" genre, and of Broadway at large. From "Beauty and the Beast" to "Burlesque," Liza Minnelli to "The Book Of Mormon," children, their parents, and theatre fans alike will have plenty to enjoy in this all-singing, all-dancing fairy tale spectacular.
Written and composed by Stage Right Theatricals in 21 days with a rotating four-night cast, this performance of "Mermaid!" stars Mari Boyle as the little mermaid herself, with Cody Petit as the pirate prince and Lindsey Ferguson as the Sea Witch. Fans of "In Control" can look for special cameo appearances by company regulars Nicole Stouffer, Missy Graf and Dylan Baughman.
