You could honestly feel a spark of chemistry in JFO, and seeing it officially done in Survivor actually felt somehow so natural. Really well done honestly, i usually refrain from “shipping” characters, but in this case it was absolutely well deserved.

Everyone needs a person like Merrin in their life

So far I’ve been LOVING Jedi Survivor and THESE moments are what I rooted for in this game. I hoped that as the games went on that Cal sorta goes “grey jedi” (very much like an Ashoka figure) and realizes that some of the reasons the Jedi’s got fucked is stuff like this. Feeling Love. Having Connections. Having actual normal feelings about stuff. Both for his team, who are like his family, and in this new development (one I’m personally a big fan of) an igniting romance with Merrin. This harkens back very much to Jolee Bindo in KOTR. Who in my opinion nailed this shit on the head years ago. That the Jedi being so devoid of attachments is a point of failure in the Jedi code more than anything. The fall of Anakin to Vader is literally caused solely around that fact. If he had not needed to hide Padme as a dirty secret and been able to get help he would’ve never fallen, or would’ve been at least WAY less likely to fall. So seeing EA make this move is great. I’m glad they gave us a satisfying payoff for it and have some great character development. Because I’ll be honest, when Cal and Bode had that little thing on the Lukerhulk about Jedi not having connections I was worried they were gonna make Cal “come to his senses” and stiff Merrin out because “he’s a Jedi and can’t do that.” Jedi Order doesn’t exist anymore dude. You’re making your own choices now, and in my opinion, made the correct one.

Merrin and Cal are the best! In my opinion Cal is a good example of a "Grey Jedi". An idea I came across that I really think sounds interesting, where Jedi are still Jedi, still good people, but they allow themselves emotion, allow for attachments.

Finally!! Cal realized the old Order was gone and he could chose the life he wanted.

They did a better job than expected with this. Also makes me even more enthused about supporting the game. Looking forward to my own playthrough.

gotta appreciate that Merrin is a constant support system for Cal. she's reliable, stable, and already has her crap figured out. I also appreciate the slight subversion of her and Cal not really having relationship drama. Merrin knows how she feels about him and knows what she wants, and just waits for his dumb ass to figure it out too.

Main reason why is she is like this tough badass but then has this super cutesy adorable side too and I just love when a girl can have both sides. You know, I was on pause on playing games as I have quite a lot to do. As such I was quite surprised to see survivors had already dropped and since these the two were probably the main reason I played the last one I wanted to know what their story would be So... You can imagine how excited and happy I was when I wrote "Cal and merrin" and the first thing was "Kiss" in the search engine : D

I just noticed that during the desert Jedha kiss, BD-1 looks away, then looks around everywhere else😂

I love them together they are great I just hope they both get a happy ending I don't want either of them to die.

bravo respawn, they didn’t push it they sort’ve eased into it like cal had small feelings for her but she wasn’t really budging. but then it was growing stronger each time they were together. hope they don’t follow the anakin padme route and these two just end up happy together.
