Gday Everrett, Merry Christmas to you all and all the very best for 2024, congrats on finishing your apprenticeship mate, it’s going to be good to have you back on screen again, please take care and cya in 2024, cheers
Thanks Matty, here's hoping and praying both of our families have a upswing into the New Year. Merry Christmas to you, the Mrs., and the boys, from all of us here!
Glad you're back. No apologies needed better to be too busy than the alternative. Enjoy seeing the actual machining jobs. Nice relief from the tinker toys. Hope you and the family have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Merry Christmas to you and all your family. I am glad to see you have plans to make more videos. I will be waiting. Thanks for the video keep on keeping on..
Thanks Harold! Being as I'm going to be working from home there should be something on the go on a regular basis, lol. Merry Christmas to you and Mrs. Waters!
Hey Pierre! Likewise, always great on this end to hear from you too! Yeah, busy busy on this end but I know I'll need to spend more time in the shop this coming year so will have more chance to take video of projects. Happy New Year to you and the Mme.!
G'day Everett, always a pleasure to see you on. Very nicely made video etc Looking forward to see what is coming on the merry-go-round. Hope you and your growing family have a Special Christmas & a very Prosperous & Happy New Year 2024
Thank you! Yeah, just didn't have the ability to do video this year but seeing as I'm working from home now there will generally be something on the go in the shop. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Thanks Richard, I'm looking forward to doing more in the shop again. As my son gets older he likes hanging out with me too, so that adds another fun part!
Thanks, Tony, hope you had a good Christmas and that a great New Years' is on its way for you! I've only recently been able to get something believable for face fungus, so it's been fun to play with, lol! 😁
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Great to see your doing well with work. Looking forward to seeing more video of your great work and awesome project.
Great to see you Everett - I can't make new videos much these days, but still try and watch some. Good to see what you have been 'mending' - ingenuity to the rescue. All very best to you and family for a Merry Christmas.
Thanks Chris, Merry Christmas to you and your family as well! You were one of the people who inspired me into this crazy Tube thing to start with, for what it's worth 😁
Thanks Tom, it's been kind of nuts here. You've had a different kind of nuts on your end, but thankful to see things are coming together again for you. Merry Christmas!
Thanks! Yeah, just wasn't in the cards this year but I have LOTS of stuff to do over the next year, hopefully it can be of interest. Merry Christmas to you and your family from all of us!
Glad you are back Everett. You have been so bussy this year that you don't have time to shave yourself :). Nice that all famely is doing well. A mery Christmus to you and all your loveones from the Netherlands.
Lol, thanks! Yeah, the beard is a new thing I'm still having fun with, haven't been able to grow anything believable until now 😁 Merry Christmas to you and your family as well!
So glad to hear from you again. I know you are blessed to make it through the move, new born and finally beginning to see something besides diapers and petri dishes and drudgery getting stable again. Bet Mom is happy to see her job again. Looking forward to some new videos from you again.
Thanks Clyde, it's been an interesting last couple years for sure! I'm hoping to take some time after Christmas to sort the disaster and then I'm into it for working from home doing machining and unit repairs for the truck shop so it should be easier to have stuff to share again.
Hello Everett! Thanks for the update...I knew you would be back eventually!! Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year to you as well...looking forward to some new videos!!
Yeah, sorry about that Joe, I had a quick look at past comments tonight and I do have to apologize but had to just let RU-vid sit aside for the year. Hoped to get to it again long ago but just wasn't going to happen. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Thanks Don! I know Chris has been busy lately and hasn't posted much in a few months but maybe if he gets some traffic it might light a fire under him, lol!
Lovely surprise - no apologies needed. Congratulations on finishing your apprenticeship! I still have a mental picture of carrying my firstborn out of the maternity hospital - now both of my kids are doctors and studying further to become medical specialists. This life thing really flies! Season's greetings from South Africa
Thanks! I can already see how time flies, our oldest is 6 and it seems like last week he was freshly hatched . . . now we have 3 little monsters running rampant, lol! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all your ever-specializing family!
Merry Christmas my friend. I am glad to hear about your growing family. You are blessed! My year has been busy with one kid coming back from Europe and finishing Uni and the other in 3rd year. Spending time helping my wife’s elderly family members. Not much shop time either. I remember fondly your shaper videos. Looking forward to seeing more content. Love the beard - makes you look like your from Northern Ontario.
Lol, thanks Paul! The facial growth has been fun over the last year and a bit, only recently been able to grow one so (much to my wife's eye rolling) it's been enjoyable to experiment with 😁 I am hoping to use the shaper on a couple projects on the list this year so it should get dusted off in the next few months if all goes well!
Great to see you back, Everett! Looking forward to seeing more of your projects in the coming year. And I appreciate the kind words! It's kinda wild to hear someone I've watched and learned from, mention me and express interest in what I'm doing in my little basement shop. Can't thank you enough! Cheers!
Hey Chris, I'm just sorry it took so long to mention the stickers you sent. Honestly, at least half the fun of this whole Tube thing is being able to connect with those other people who have similar interests and learn by sharing ideas. Hopefully you can get your shop camera lit up again soon, nudge nudge wink wink, lol?😁
No worries, man... I know it took me a while to get the stickers sent, so I think we're even! I've got a few video ideas marinating, and I should have something new out soon. I'd like to start doing some semi-regular stuff... Shop updates, side projects, and random work. We'll see what the future holds!
Thanks Mick, I'm actually excited to get into being an active member of the community again. Seeing as I'm working from home now it should be easier to share the projects again!
I like your videos because they are often solving real world problems. As a mechanic I have encountered many problems that required non standard solutions. The machine shops I've used have told me they like to see me come into their shop because it is usually something that they haven't done before. When I was involved with a part that failed, I tend to look for ways to modify the design to avoid future failures.
Thanks! I still think about how much my Dad did with so little when I was a kid on our family's ranch. I can only imagine what sort of mad scientist sort of stuff he would have come up with had he owned a lathe and mill, lol
Thanks, hope your Christmas was good too and that you have a Happy New Year! It's getting going again, just getting the holidays and assorted fallout dealt with then I'll be back in the shop, lol
Thank you, likewise! And yes, we're ok (apart from numerous colds, occasional flu, etc., usual stuff) but have had some extended family stuff to deal with in that respect which is thankfully getting stabilized.
Oh by all means, if we're in the neighborhood you're on our itinerary! I do have family in NS but we haven't been able to travel for a while. Logistics is also a bit trickier now with 3 kids, but I would love to see Nova Scotia again. Beautiful country out there. Happy New Year!
Merry Christmas you and your family too, Stan! I think we have as much snow as you do for Christmas this year, lol - not a flake on the ground here, very odd for us!
Glad you are all keeping well. I did have a massive post COVID clear out of subs this year, as it turns out you can't watch as many RU-vid videos whilst working in the office. You chanel was not on the list. I hope you have a very special Christmas and a Happy New Year. Hopefully you will have more time now and we'll be back in the land of swarf covered babies and toddlers and oldest "helping" around the shop!
Thanks Stephen, I would have totally understand if I got culled, going radio silent is something like a cardinal sin in the RU-vids, the algorithm pretty much forgets you, lol. I'm optimistic about getting more videos out this year, partly as I'm actually working from home on some fun projects for work. May you and your family have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year as well!
Thanks, it's taking a bit to get going again, but I have a couple things needing done in the shop in the next few days so hopefully they can be of interest!
Hello Everett, Sorry this I have been on the missing list, like you sometimes life gets in the way of this RU-vid malarkey... Anyway nice to see you looking so well and to hear the family are well... Take care. Paul,,
Hi Paul, no need to apologize, I've been trying to catch up on what my RU-vid friends like yourself are up to as well. Now that my kids are old enough to want to watch stuff they like I find even TV RU-vid time is in less supply, lol. When I do watch it on the TV I have to get caught up on comments later, and that sometimes takes a while too!
He is alive!!!! Sporting the scruffy look not too bad. Merry Christmas to you and the family and wishing you a healthy and prosperous New Year!!!! PS I may need some help from you to make some split nuts for a lathe. We will talk later. cheers
Thanks Yves! Yeah, the face fungus only took till my mid-40's to actually propagate in any reasonable level, so it's been a fun thing to play with over the last year. Shoot me an email with your idea of what you need and we can see if we can get something started. Happy New Year!
Thanks Todd! I still apologize for how long it took to get this out, you sent those a long time ago. It's cool to see someone who has a similar train of thought, lol. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too!
Lol, thanks, but I'm not Mennonite in my background, I know that for certain! I'm kind of going for the "Crazy Slav Cleric" look 😁 I missed doing the RU-vid thing but this last year it just wasn't in the cards. Now that I know I will need to spend more time in the shop the cameras can get properly dusted off. The one I used had a layer of fuzz on it that needed cleaning, lol! Happy New Year!
First of all, congrat's on the third addition. Cheers on finishing up an apprenticeship in diesel mechanics and you a great trade to be in. Great to have you back, and missed having you, but like a soldier that had too go off to war, when they return the whole Community celebrates their return! Will definitely go over and check out Cris @ F'n A Wright & Acme Machining. Your new look with a full beard is becoming. Ole Bear's beard after chemo this year, had to go. Came back in like a "Porcupine", so you'll find me 80+ lbs lighter and no bread 😞Merry Christmas to you and family from Bear & family. May the Chips always be flying, but never Down! Bear.
Thanks Bear, we've got the post-Christmas disaster to clean up here, but after New Years' I should be able to finish cleaning the shop as it's a total disaster from sorting shelves and tools. And thanks for the comment about the beard, it only took till my mid-40's to be able to grow anything believable, lol!
Hey, good to see you back. Did anyone mention the beard? 😊 (just teasing). Thanks for the update on life and projects. I'm always interested to know what's going on with people. I was waiting for Rusti to say something. Have a great Christmas.
Thanks Paul, hope you had a "Happy Christmas" and that you get to have a great New Years'! Just dealing with the post-Christmas disaster area in our home and then the shop is a priority, lol
Lol, that makes sense - I get a kick out of the new name, kind of brings an image to mind of Bugs Bunny in a ghillie with an Accuracy International hiding under a bush 😁
🤣 Lol, that's awesome, I haven't gotten that one yet! Yeah, the face fungus has been something new and fun for me as I've never been able to grow a believable one until now. Just playing with it, seeing what can be done with it 😁 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
ITS ALIVE....i get work from my job also ((farm eq repair) amazing sometime how much money you can make and save the customers ass at the same time. some stuff you cant buy if you wanted
I know, eh? It's amazing how much can be actually repaired with a bit of effort. Can't fix everything but sometimes it comes out saving a bunch of money for all involved! And I get to play in my shop 😁
