When these Bing Crosby specials came out when I was young, I didn't appreciate the supreme achievement of these people. Every moment win this condensed version of the 1975 Christmas special is full of warmth and artistry. The scenes with Crosby and Astaire are precious and when Kathryn joins the fun (as a stand in for Dorothy Lamour) it is wonderful to hear the road picture songs done in medley - with Astaire doing a good job of replacing Bob Hope. Fred and Bing. Now, this is a dynamic duo who knew how to pick up a phone and call each other up without worry. Bing knew how to invite the entire nation into the warmth and comfort of his home for Christmas.
