Oh this is fun! i am awaiting episode 6 of this season to drop in the US today and I imagine this must have been filming for episode 7. I can only imagine how hot all those actors were in their winter layers in June.

Parents were there last week on the day they were filming (they live locally and we’re just going to the Post Office!) Dad dropped mum off and went to turn the car round - got stuck in the top square for half an hour while they closed the road! Really feel for the cast, filming the Xmas special on one of the hottest days of the year!

Hi, I did see the article but couldn't hang around on set all day. Think they were filming till early evening. If people have read the books and seen original series they will have an idea of the main future storyline/events.

This is a lovely series, but not as utterly captivating and realistic as the first ‘All Creatures’ series. This one has a more sanitized, Disney quality. Unfortunately.

As someone who will always have a soft spot for the original series, I'm confused as to why you think the new series is a more santised, Disney type version. I don't think that could be further from the truth. It's much grittier. Siegfried is far more vulnerable in the new series due to the whole new backstory. Lost his wife to cancer, has PTSD from serving in WWI, has a more troubled relationship with his brother, Tristan. If we look back on the original series, Robert Hardy's portrayal was just as irascible but more charming and a bit of a cad. Hadn't had a wife, hadn't served in WWI, didn't have PTSD. None of the baggage. It also stretched credulity that someone Siegfried's age (Robert Hardy was mid 50's) would be called up to fight in WWII. Even Christopher Timothy who played James was 40 at the time and would have never been drafted to fight. This was also very unrealistic considering vets were reserved occupations. Tristan is also much more vulnerable in the new series, as is Mrs Hall who has a troubled relationship with her estranged son and was a beaten woman in her marriage.

@@Jimbo8012 I feel like they've probably worked with Alf and Donald's children to go beyond the books and really bring the supporting characters to life. We see so much more of Mrs. Pumfrey and I think the replacement actress is just perfect for the role, not to demean Diana Rigg in any way. And to have the little details like naming the horse Joan (Helen's real name) just adds so much more to it. I'm just glad we didn't get the version HBO wanted, which wasn't going to be family friendly.
