Fish farmers in Meru County have started using green houses to rear fish to beat the cold climate. They say fish in ponds inside green-houses mature faster while those outside are slow due to cold. The fish they keep in the green houses are mainly cat fish.
Moses Mburugu, who has a farm at Kathera, South Imenti sub-county explains how he farms using the green house where he has six ponds, each measuring six by two metres.
