Idk why I kept calling it the Hot Mod in the video. Freudian slip? Anyway, I was 100% using a Mr. Scary mod- I just want to avoid any confusion. I also forgot to mention that I had the base boost switch engaged for the entirety of the video. Thx for watching!
I hear you! The stock Badlander sat better in the mix to my ear. I did have the base switch turned on, which does change the frequency of the amp. I prefer it with the base switch off, that way the original amp frequency is preserved.
I might be different here. In the mix, I thought unmodded stood out more like mesa was designing this during the ice picky guitar sound fad. The mr scary mod made the badlander sound all around fuller/rounder. I like both sounds, it all depends on what the song needs to push it over that edge.
I agree with you. I actually prefer when the base switch is turned off. It keeps the original badlander frequency range but adds definition and a ton of sustain.
I think… I’ve spent way too much money and time watching videos and not practicing. They basically sounded the same to me. I’m 40 and wish to be in a band one day so always feel like I need the latest and greatest 😢
For me it sounds so much better stock with a boost! More clarity and definition with a nice growl! The mod sounds too compressed! That’s just my opinion
